Using the body of my modular carnifex, here are some plug-on arms that make him into an Exocrine, using the same basic bio-cannon model as my Hierophant.

Sniper fex in 40k speak typically refers to a fex with VC and BS. (Venom cannon and barbed strangler that is).

In epic it has referred to a fex with gun as primary armament.

Anyway nice mod!

Left arm looks a little "Mr Fantastic" from the photo.  Can we see another angle?

Less Mr Fantastic, more two arms becoming one.

Y'know it's not impossible that I could do one of those.

I already have a venom cannon sculpted from my Hive Tyrant.

Interesting concept :)

Thanks.

I tried doing a more traditional Exocrine first (Bio-cannon coming out of a Carnifex's back) but it didn't look so hot.

So I gave him plug-on arms instead.

Well you could sculp a different model. Something in between of a Canrifex and a Hierdule in size with the Bio-Cannon growing out of the back. Perhabs like a mini-Dominatrix. So it wouldn't look too goofy :)

But you design works too :)

I was looking at what I would do if I wasn't constrained by the past designs, and I decided that I'd make most of the bio-tanks into the 'iconic' designs of carnifex.

So the Haruspex becomes a stone crusher fex (It's the CC bio-tank)
The Malefactor a quad devourer fex (It's the FF bio-tank)
The Exocrine a fex with a bio cannon.

Their in-game stats are similar enough that it works well, I think.

Cool ideas :)

I just realised as FW made its new Tyranid models:
The Hauspex is now the Scyced Hierodule
The Malefactor is now the Barbed Hierodule
The Trygon is...well the Trygon :)

But now these are super-heavies.

So the non-super-heavy Haruspex and Malefactor are now Carnifex variants.

As are the bigger Bio-Artillery as Exocrine and Dactylis (else they should be bigger variants of the Biovore).

Basically, yeah. :)

I wanted to do my 'nid range to match the modern 'Leviathan' model range, not the 'kraken' model range represented by the old GW Epic nids.
