Forgeworld  Reaver titan

Philosophically speaking, I'm weakly ambivalent about these super-large projects (Reaver, Manta, fortress walls).

1) They look neat and they're impressive. That's good.
2) They distract FW from making stuff that I might actually buy. That's bad.
3) They cost so much, us mere mortals can't buy them. That's good and bad (good because I have enough stuff to buy already).
4) They might inspire Epic-scale stuff. That's good.
5) They might collapse beneath their own weight, puncturing through the Earth's crust. That's bad.

This is only a problem until they make a Mole...

Regards,
Reaver

They *will* be making a Termite when they do an Ad-Mech army...

That's a scratchbuild that belongs to a Warhammer World employee. It's not FW's. :)

I' not too impressed with the reaver.  It is too short (I think that the warlord on one of the tables was about the right size for such a beat and a reaver should be about half his height.) and I'm not that keen on the triple barrelled turbolasers.  We've made do with saying they have bigger generators so ore shots, sowhy would FW want to make them triple barrelled.

Besides battle class turbolasers have twice the firepower of scout class, not 1.5

But under Epic : Armageddon's rules, battle class turbolasers have extra range, not firepower. :D

It is too small. Warlords have a 5 man crew, Warhound 3 man (Moderatus and one for each weapons system) ...so i thought Reaver would have 4 men in the cockpit. :(

I thought that the Reaver head is one of the two initial variants... the one I didnt like as much, actually.  :(

Yep. That's a modified version of the old skull head. The other one was old gas mask head.  :p

Technically, it depends. The Princepts controls that machine, and there is one Moderati for each weapon - although I thought that the Moderati were stationed in the carapace, not the head. Anyway, with three weapons on a Reaver, there should be four crew, but many Reavers lacked a carapace mounted weapon - so three crew.

Perhaps the third Moderati is inside the carapace.

There's also a Tech priest and servitors in the engine room I think.

There are weapons servitors hard wired into the interior detailing of the carapace for each of the weapons systems. The one for the Barrage missile is actually suspended face down from teh ceiling.

The crew & details inside are definitely the highlight of the model for me. Had a long chat with Will as usual, and he said he's got a lot more detailing work to do & hopefully a couple of weapons before its release at the end of the year.

Personally, I'd prefer ?it if they went with one of the existing styles - classic or the more "mecha" style of the FW Epic models. ?Regardless of the detailing, the chassis looks something between the two. ?I'm having a hard time picturing any amount of detailing that will resolve that, but I suppose we'll wait and see.

Not that it matters to FW what my opinion is. ?There's no way I'll be buying one anyway.

looks like their Mars styling, (see FW's mars warhounds)
as opposed to lucius (mecha)

I think Forgeworlds Mars styling is quite a bit different from the the epic classics, but I think FW's concepts will become 'gospel' and the originals ignored.
