If you look at the small drawing in the first pic Otter posted, you can see it looks a bit like a Rhino... they're copying my conversion!!! ?:p ?:p ?:p

Quick - tell them they have infringed your IP rights!  :p

His proffered options for the way ahead last time were:

- Set up a fully seperate company the sell and promote Epic (And only Epic) in a similar manner to ForgeWorld.

- Let Forgeworld take over the rules & model development for the future.

I dont see how the first option ois possible given the copyright issues involved and GW's strict attitude towards copyright enforcement.

What is your opinion of how he is taking all of this?  He pretty much was Specialist games, so it like watching his creations get shelved.  I wouldnt be a happy chappy

Firstly, GW would licence the IP in perpetuity to the Epic company for a penny, or something similar.

Secondly, Jervis thinks they'll get back to the SG's in some form one day. He split them into two categories.

SG's that don't need ongoing support, just putting in order:
- Necromunda
- Inquisitor
- Battle of Five
- Blood Bowl
- Mordheim

SG's that do need ongoing support:
- Epic
- Warmaster

He reckoned BFG could be placed in either category.

I would not be surprised to see some of the 'don't need ongoing support' systems revisited by the core studio at some point to give them modern boxed sets (That's my own conjecture). The 'requires ongoing support' systems are a different matter.

It is curious to note that the Apocalypse additions to WH40K have an Epic feel to them.

Not really curious. It's just a marketing ploy to get people buy even more minis.  100 40k minis give more profit than 100 epic minis.  :)  I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if there was a similar book for WHFB in the works. "End of times" or something like that.

Still, there's nothing wrong with a plastic Baneblade.

Ummm where would be the problem if it's set up like forge world? I mean forge world is still part of GW...

It would be like saying Forge world break GW copyright

Just one problem with the concept:

Models are way too BIG! Who has 20'x12' board epic battles with 28mm models would require? Even on 8'x4' board huge battles would degenerate into no-strategy games where you just line models up and roll dices. No strategy.

Stupid GW killing off all sense of logic in name of $$$.

What's next? Ultra detailed skirmish rules with 2mm models?

Speaking of 2mm, I posted this before ... Check out the 2mm link on GZG ... The Drop pods are 6mm compatible not to mention some of the other stuff which could work for 6mm.  I've posted pics before, of GZG 2mm weapons on my Rhinos and E/W APCs ... :)

Isn't this almost exactly the point, at least as a draw in their shops?

I've never seen a GW store with a larger than 8'x4' table... it'll just make the "Mega-battles" that much more crowded.

I still say it's going to be a comparable supplement for Warhammer.

I have to say that's mostly what I see out of 40K players anyway.  They guys that play weekly at the local shop frequently have 4000 points per side on an 8x4 board.  It's rare to see something as small as 2000 on a side.

Yes I agreed with "T82", we've always felt that G/W's talent for 'Uge Epic games makes sure the only tactic used is line up, shoot, remove ... We really dislike that type of game® ...
