Nope, SG is an umbrella group with (IMHO) questionable independent status. This theoretical re-organisation would see Epic as a mini-company unto itself ala ForgeWorld.

The other option Jervis mentioned was simply to have ForgeWorld itself do more Epic stuff.

I doubt Epic would be able to generate enough sales to keep it as a separate viable company given GW's track record.

So having FW continue to more Epic stuff would be great. Just imagine if they simply did Epic versions of their recent W40k stuff. Macharius Gorgon & Malcador, DKOK infantry death-riders tanks & above all artillery, Tallarn HW teams Mukaali & sentinels, Elysian infantry & sentinels,

I know infantry will be difficult to srink from 40k scale to Epic scale. But even if they could just do the rest, that would be beyond our wildest dreams if we were relying solely on SG to produce more models.

Cheers

James

It appears that there are some very good sculptors in our little community here and it has been suggested that they contact FW largely to get mass production done legally.

Depends, if run as a hobby company like most are out there it would be fine, especially since it has no R&D costs.

What I dont understand is that I am fairly sure that SG turns over a profit larger than DRM, EW, CH or other mini ranges. By this rationale, if they are making a profit, then SG should be able to, too. It may not be enough for GW to pay any attention to, but a company producing any profit, using totally seperate games with a shared world, seems the perfect candidate for a seperate company working under license.

I always thought that BFG and E:A would be worth it just in terms of a sort of advertising, promoting the 40K world sense.  I certainly only ever ended up playing 40K and Warhammer because I was drawn in by the imagery of the complete package.  Now because of E:A I still end up buying and painting 40K models to match my Epic armies even though I don't even like the game.  Otherwise I think I would have completely moved away from GW despite liking the imagery of the 40K universe.

I am pretty sure that E:A or SG would be viable on its own. The only thing keeping sales down in my region is that independent stores almost make no profit with SG games because they are mail order only.

Well, as many have said before ... Epic's survival is in question ... again ... still ... whatever ...  But as I have said, DRM and E/W are the answer as well as CH, GZG, etc. ... :)

Maybe they mean the third Friday following a complete week?

Ha! I guess not, then.
I thought that this was very unlikely.

EPIC's survival will never be in question as long as the EPICentre is around to continue to provide rules and content for the system.

If EPIC:A folds, well, I am sure there will be some noble chaps to preserve it.

No doubt ... we'll keep it alive online here and else where ... However, with DRM and E/W plus CH, GZG, SJM, etc., etc. ... Epic here will morph into 6mm Sci-fi. With many 6mm SF Armies having stuff from various sources ... :D  Long live 6mm SF !

I just finished reading the article, and it turns out there is a Flash version of the battle here.

It is a great way to show potential players how the game goes.

Yes I just posted it on a local wargaming forum and had good feedback. I think it is a useful promotional tool for growing the local scene. It keeps things simple and explains things very clearly.

That was actually rather good intro. Makes more clear on things as it's not a static picture of the moves.

I'm *shocked* by how the battle turns out!  *laugh*   :alien:
