I finally got round to the first step - fashioning a putty base and fixing the start of an armature to it.
I'll post WIP photos here (hopefully not too many WIP photos!), but first..

Otterman, d'you want me to try and make some kind of sprue for the individual parts? ?If so, here's my initial, uneducated thoughts about it.

Warning - you may wish to stop work on this, as relations with the 'ex' have soured, and my money may need to be devoted towards legal matter.

But, assuming that was not the case...

This is how I would mold such a thing. Your design is ideal for professionals, of course.

It is actually easier for me to deal with separate pieces, but with pre-sculpted attachment points. The air flow channels can be added in-situ with plastic strip, so don't let those get in the way of the harder job of sculpting.

That having been said, a flat and easily sandable attachment point for the air flow channels would be ideal.

Sad to hear the otter is having trouble...but wow i didnt think it could be so complex...and erm Otterman...couldnt you compress the resin into the mould by hand? Like create a duct for you to push resin intot he mold with a tool or something...like a hydraulic pump mechanism?

Ooh, looking good so far, although would it be awkward and not a little selfish to request a second Right-arm option, sans weapon, to represent an Electro-priest?  Pretty please? :D

P.S. Otterman, hope you sort out issues with the ex with the least amount of stress possible.  I'm sure everyone else on here wishes you well, too :)

Sorry to hear that, Otter.  Hopefully things can be settled tidily.

Although I might keep going with this, just to keep my hand in if nothing else. :;):

Otterman...its not difficult at all...make a normal 2 piece mold

make sure the canal you pour resin into is a rectangular prism..

shove a rectangular prism just the right size (not perfectly! SMOOTHLY) and thats it...i use wooden blocks...

and of course think about your life first

then again im willing to the casting for vermis...i cant promise such notch top quality but im no retard

EDIT

a can was meant to be a cant

Some square styrene strip would work nicely with this. I'll engineer that into the next set of molds and see how it works.

whatever you have...the principle is to create a gap between the mould and thing your shoving in that is not airtight but wont let think liquids out...and erm am i the only one that thinks this SHOULD be rephrased?

Double entendre warning:

We're grown ups here. You should see the things Yen and I shove around.

Or maybe not. 'Trade secrets', you know.
