I think the problem people are having with this is not that 'transports on a lease' is wrong from a real world perceptive. but that people are having problems concieving epic distances. remember the models are not to scale with the distances involved on the ground. Think how far 5cms is in real life terms, can't remember exactly off my head, but it's the kind of distance that is reasonable if you needed to be in range to pick up infantry that get into trouble. any futher and I think they would be waiting too long.

No ... I understand the distances ... but in the real world ... once you dismount, you move away from APCs/IFVs. ?Which isn't to say that there are not occasions that the AFVs stay close. ?In some cases they do. However, IMO, as in SM1, the transports having the ability to move as a separate det. is a better way to do things. ?That is my experience with SM1 and in RL. ? But as always - DWWFY ! ?:) And as far as game scale, IIRC, 15cm = 250 meters, according to Jervis. ?Which is the usual firefight range, according to military studies, Jervis mentioned that somewhere. ?I've read similiar studies. ?Which I believe is correct. A human size target, at 300 meters, is a small blur, unless you are using enhanced optics. I know, been there, did that. So as they say, ?do the math ... but IMO 5cm(6cm-SM1) is a bit tight ... In modern warfare dispersion = survival. ?The Leash Rule is there for morale/leadership/blast marker cycle ... which is a good system for E:A game play. ?But as the FOW rules and the way we do it is better for a number of reason IMHO. ?But that's my take on it. ?G/W is tied (too much) to C/Cbt and leadership/morale rules as I said, IMO, are weak ... :)
