Hello, I wasn't sure which place to put this thread, but seeing as it's about models of space-ships I thought the BFG sections would be apt!

Basically, I've become a bit of a fan of the new version of Battlestar Galactica (gone: sub-Star Wars clone-isms; in - deeper philosophical, moral, and political subtexts   ), and I've been thinking about how much I'd like a model of the new Galactica from the series.

I've done an internet search, and Alliance make a resin model - but this is only a few inches long, and to be honest I wanted something larger.

If anyone knows of any manufacturers which make such a model, are planning to, or could be persuaded to    then I'd appreaciate any intel!

Thanks!  :;):

Hi FS,

*** Do you want Cylon ships or the BSG itself? ***

They exist in several scales.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Just the Galactica itself!  Although I'm sureif I was to find models of Cylon ships then I'd be tempted to use them in some-sort  of Space-Combat miniature game... :;):

The Forbidden Planet website is a bit but it does have this:

http://www.forbiddenplanet.com/1313826.shtml

Additionally, there's a die-cast series going around both in large scale (ie from my elbow to my wrist), and small (a bit bigger than BFG cruisers) scale. I'm trying to find them as I type, so this post is in rough real-time mockery!

Aha!

There's the buggers!

You should be able to find more local vendors/purveyors/dealers/stockists now you know they're called "Battlestar Galactica diecast - Titanium Series"

If you can find them.  List price at Wal-Mart is $20...but they are all out of stock. :(   Looking on Ebay, I saw a few for $37-40...!   Seems that since the series is quite popular...and this is lending to a Christmas buying spree... Or maybe I'm just delusional...  :p

Thank you, Xisor! I've already seen some of those Die-cast ones on the ol' fleabay, but not the big one of Galactica itself...  I've not seen that 15" resin one, though, and I must admit at ?100 (bar a few pennies), I don't think I'll be getting it in a hurry... ???

iblisdrax, as usual eBay is not the place to go if you're looking for a bargain

Hi Guys,

Ravenstar is one producer...

So is Studio Bergstrom.

GZG makes several proxies from the Full Thrust range that bear a "remarkable" resemblance to the BSG background.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hey Maksim, thanks for the info!  I had a look at Ravenstar's models - although they look really nice they're the versions from the 1970's show, whereas I'm after the current version.

At the moment I'm at work and I can't look at Bergstrom's website as it's blocked by the internet system here  but I'll have a peek when I get home.
