I suggested this a couple of months back... it was generally disliked, and Jaldon himself specifically veto'd it.

Teleporters jumping in to join existing units has been discussed multiple times, going all the way back to fairly early development with Termies and LRs and again with Obliterators and infantry formations (especially drop pod troops) in the Black Legion list.  It gets odd very quickly.

You mean drop the disrupt & ignore cover notes from the weapons but still keep the weapons?

Greetings all,

Been away again and now trying to catch up. Looks like some great ideas coming along. I'm especially keen on the move towards FW based/derived stats, seperating the dom and hydra and the modular weapon fits.

Trygon looks cool, though infiltrate is probably easier than tunnelling to balance.
And i guess the malatrope bite the bullet or did i just miss him?

Could someone though please put together a quick 7.1.2 or something list as its hard to know where exactly you are at. Doesn't have to be fantasticly formatted or anything. I'd like to help playtest in the next little while but i don't wanna waste time on something that has already been discarded.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to have something like an 'idea' post where I could stick up the ideas that come in and I want to try out, but at the same time no real posting occurs. Another week of rest and I should be up to the task.

There is too many special weapons

I would NOT be adverse to pairing down the special abilities from a good number of weapons IC/DIS/. On the flip side I wouldn't want to eliminate them all, such as the bio-arty having DIS.

I would just like to add to Ortron's request. I have some battles coming up this weekend and would like to be playtesting the very latest version of the list. It would be really, really useful to know what versions of what I should be testing so that I can provide some useful feedback.

I agree with the general opinion of reducing special weapon types.

Some of them are appropriate but, for example, not every template weapon has to have Ignore Cover.  After all, a strafing run of BreathWeaponX is not the same as a guy with a flamthrower stuffing his nozzle into a bunker window before pulling the trigger.
