A Harridan with a massive dorsal cannon or something...

Spore mine bomber variant harridans and vituperators (as well as other variants).  I was planning on building some as a fanatic article (along with tyrant and carnifex variants).

Vituperator.  range 15cm fixed rear arc (I never liked how maruder bombers lofted their bombs) 2BPs disrupt.

It is quite easy, you fly over a formation and drop the spore mines, fly on a bit the the spores hit the ground, thus land behind the flyer.

And I refuse to et started on the harridan poop sernario again.  :D

Harridan
Type / Speed / Armour / Close Combat / Firefight
War Engine, Bomber / Aircraft / 5+ / 4+ / 5+
Weapon / Range / Firepower / Notes
Bio-Cannon / 45cm / 2x AP 3+/AT 4+/AA 5+ / Ignore Cover
Spore cloud / Special / Special / Disrupt, Fixed Rear Arc
Bio-Titan Talons / (base contact) / (assault weapons) / Macro-Weapon, Titan Killer (1), Extra Attacks (+1)
Notes: DC (3), Reinforced Armour, Skimmer, Fearless, Synapse (1d3+1), Transport (4); May carry four units of Gargoyles.
Special: Spore Cloud - the Harridan leaves a cloud of toxic bio-mass in its wake. To represent this effect during a ground attack place three blast templates, without overlapping, in a straight line along the Harridan's approach path with the first template touching the Harridan's flight stand, after making its approach move. Any non-Tyranid units affected by the first template suffer a 3 BP attack, if affected by the second they suffer a 2 BP attack and if affected by the third template they suffer a 1 BP attack. All Tyranid units are also subject to being hit by the impact of the bio-mass, but not it?s toxic effects and count as if in cover when rolling to hit.    
Critical Hit: Roll 1d6 and consult the chart below.
1-5: The Harridan suffers one additional point of damage.
6: The Harridan is killed outright.
Note: If the Harridan is killed by a Critical Hit all transported units are killed.

Maybe give this effect to the Vituraptor, as Harridans do not have this ability.

I think it is too fiddly a rule for a standard list.  For sernarios or a fanatic article it would work well.

not the best of ideas....agreed, sort of an adaptation of their Space Marine abilities which were way fiddly!

it was something, not a lot, but that's how you find the good ideas, lots and lots of dustbin.  :;):
