A quick look over the painting and modelling pages made me wonder why I stopped coming here. ?There's something about modelling at 6mm that grabs me, and the topics here do that.

Anyhow. ?Just to show you I haven't come back just to take your money (:p) - here's something I started a while ago, then shelved for a few months. ?This is one reason why I'm keeping a few AdMech minis.

It's still WIP - I have to add a few more gubbins, fill in some gaps and holes, and sculpt a tiny aquila on the armour plating. ?But that's pretty much what it'll look like when finished.

The idea was to convert a lot of titan weapons from 40K bits, and make them interchangeable with the old magnet trick. ?This inferno gun is a heavy flamer from the Sisters of Battle Immolator sprue (which also yielded up another flamer, two heavy bolters, and two multimeltas for this purpose). ?I've also scrounged a lot of other bits to make almost all the weapons from the V2 Titan Legion list. ?If anyone's interested:

Gatling blaster - Terminator assault cannon.
Inferno gun - heavy flamer.
Melta cannon - multimelta.
Multiple rocket launcher - cyclone missile launcher pod.
Plasma cannon - three plasma guns bodged together somehow.
Turbolaser destructor - two multilasers
Vulcan mega bolter - heavy bolter (maybe two, cut down).
Chainfist - Ork boyz chainsaw choppa.
Corvus assault pod - ? scratchbuilt.
Laser burner - lasgun and laspistol bits.
Power fist - Terminator power fist.
Wrecker - ?
Barrage missile - ? Epic manticore missiles?
Plasma destructor - four plasma guns bodged together somehow.
Quake cannon - IG weapons team autocannon.
Volcano cannon - ?
Vortex missile - IG tank accessory missile.
Light inferno gun - two flamers joined dorsally ventrally, even.
Plasma blastgun - two plasma guns joined dorsally ventrally.
Light turbolaser destructor - ? multilasers?
Light multiple rocket launcher - ? cut-down cyclones?
Light vulcan mega bolter - vehicle storm bolter

I had planned not only to convert these, but to make multiples. ?If I actually try that, they're not likely to be finished anytime soon...

Very nice, indeed!  Tell us, what did you use for the housing where the gun meets the arm?  Is that just plasticard?  In which case, how do you make such beautifully perfect cuts and panel lines?

Looks good. I look forward to seeing others in your collection as they are finished.

This is an excellent conversion - very inspiring!

I plan to make some Plasma Blast Guns for my AMTL Warlords, along the lines of the FW Warhound ones - two 40k Plasma Pistols joined together! :D

Thanks all!

The housing - the armour? - is plasticard. ?I drew the upper and lower parts seperately on 1mm card - keeping in mind the dimensions of the flamer - and scored them out with a sharp scalpel, leaving a slight margin. ?Then I drew around them onto thin plasticard (the almost paper-thin stuff), and drew the panels inside those boundaries. ?The neatness was helped by the thinness, which made it a lot easier to cut - I kind of 'chopped' straight down on the lines, rather than scoring; letting the straight edge of the blade keep things accurate.
I took the thick parts again and filed one edge on each of them (lower on the upper, upper on the lower) to a bevel, so I could glue them together at an angle. ?Then I carefully glued the panels down, well down, because the last job was to file the edges of the whole thing straight and I didn't want them pinging off again
It helps to have a mechanical pencil, a good ruler, and a slight obsessive-compulsive outlook. :p

The rest is bits of plasticard, plastic rod, and u-channels (for the upper arm). ?And a li'l bit of copper wire.

That's a beautiful piece of work, I particularly like the little pipe detail too, and all so very neatly finished, very impressive.

Very nice weapon.  Also I really like you conversion guide for the other weapons.  Makes the prospect a little less daunting.

Love the Inferno gun!
One suggestion for the Plasma Cannon I've used is a SM Devastator Plasma Cannon. It's a bit more work being metal, but really looks the part, and the size is just about right.
Look forward to seeing more of your weapons!
Regards,
Reaver

Ta again.

Ragnarok - I seem to have lost the sketches that showed what I wanted to do with flamers and plasma guns.  So I think those'll be next on the agenda, hopefully with a small step-by-step guide.

Reaver - I would've gone for a plasma cannon, but I wanted plastic bits to keep the weapons as light as possible.  I don't know if the magnet could hold a big metal bit securely, all the time.
Also, I think I like the multi-barreled look of FW's blastgun better than the old titan plasma weapons.  It looks a little more understated.  IMHO.
Yeah, I know.  'Understated' has no place in the description of a titan.
