Hi!

Probably. Thats why many retailers in the US are dumping them, going with other distributors with better minimums and order policies.

It would be really funny to watch if we weren't the one suffering from it. I don't think GW has ever understood how helpful indie stores in the US could have been for its sales.

Hi!

Their faulty analysis and understanding of the US market is quite old. They seem to want to apply market tactics of the UK to the US, it hasnt worked.

I see this same isseu in American Companies heading to the EU or to Asia. What works in Los Angeles does not always work in London. etc.

Hi!

THe minimums in the "old days" as you mention, were multiples of 6 and 12, or called a "slieve". It made getting stuff for the retailer difficult. Thats why I have so many epic figs, becuase back then I ordered in multiples of 6 and 12.

Later on the order minimums were money based on certain quantities at retail price. Used to be 500, dont know what it is now.

That explains the 6 CI's in Primarch's collection!!

Cheers

The trouble is, it's not always a good idea to change marketing tactics from a job-security standpoint. If you're on the Board of Directors and suggest sticking with marketing tactics which currently work, then you'll usually get backing. And if they fail, then you rarely get fired, after all you just suggested something which is known to work which happened not to! On the other hand, if you suggest CHANGING marketing tactics for a new zone, often times you'll wind up getting into trouble with the other board members who don't want to see the company risk it's fortune doing something untested. And if they do carry it and it fails you're far more likely to get fired for it, for making a bad decision. And even if the 'accepted' means doesn't work very well, you'll still likely pull in kudos for suggesting something. This is also why most companies in the US use Windows and it's associated computing technologies despite there being more secure and far better choices for most of what they do with it (No offense to those of you who like Windows). You rarely get fired for traveling the route of the industry standard.

What amazes ME is that companies aren't capable of learning from EACHOTHER. You'd think they'd look at eachother's marketing choices, and spot the ones which work well for other companies and implement something similar for their own marketing.

Hi!

It only applied to blisters.

If you remember the CI came in a larger hard plastic box and you need not get that many of such an item. The terms for these are much more lenient.

Those were the days....  :;):
