I have one of each of the 3 G/S Familiars for my Patriarch. And the they made 1 for each Chaos Powers. Much better IMO, than the "Official" Epic releases ...

I figure it would take 15 to 25 or so to insure we could play Space Hulk 15. Does this sound right to the restof you?
How many Genestealers came in the original box?

There were 20 Genestealers in the original box (both first and second edition, I think). However, this was never enough, and there was always some 'lurking' until models became available - but this became part of the game.

IIRC, this wasn't as much of a problem after buying the two releases for 1st edition SH, since I think they both came with more Genestealers.
In any case, I think 15-25 would work just fine.
