I'm just upset that the base sprues don't still come with a random piece of rubble too.

I got a stack of salvaged 1mm styrene cardstock for free and bought a $20 clearance paper cutter at an office supply store. In ~10 minutes I can knock out about 50 infantry stands and can customize any size I want.
Even if you have to pay for the styrene stock, it can still be done for a fraction of the price of buying them premade.
If you want indentions for the infantry bases you can cut 2 strips per base, drill holes in one and glue them together. The bases are ~1mm thick, so all you need is a proper diameter drill bit and some glue.
Personally, I just use a good amount of modeling glue and once the figs are on the base, dip it in sand. the excess glue takes the sand and makes a nice slope up to the level of the bases.

Quote (Legion 4 @ 08 June 2006 (09:30)) | BTW ... if any one needs the ruins ... I have beaucoup extras ! ? ?I use'm but still have lots ! | I need them. How can I get them?
Oh, and in response to the initial topic in the thread, I have lots of extra warmaster bases that I'm looking to get rid of, do you want those?
And finally, as a followup to what Neal suggests, you can buy styrene sheets that have been pressed with a tile pattern. Besides making good looking floors, the tile gaps also allow you to "break" off strips with consistent widths.

I could use Warmaster bases (it'll save me from having to find and cut styrene sheets). ?What do you need/would you like in return?

Also, I'm not sure that they are quite 2x the width of the epic bases (especially with the kerf of the saw blade factored in).
That said, if your are interested, I could PM you (or you could PM me), if that's ok. I have a bunch (144 instead of the 48 I needed) due to a stupid troll at GW mail order, so I'm willing to part with 80-90. Let me double check that though (I need to make sure I know where they are).

Also, I'm not sure that they are quite 2x the width of the epic bases (especially with the kerf of the saw blade factored in). | To go with what Jim said, the WM bases are definitely NOT 2x the width of an epic infanry base. The epic bases are actually 12mmx40mm while the WM bases are a true 20mmx40mm. Obviously, that's going to be quite a bit different even without taking into account material loss from cutting (and possibly beveling if the WM bases are beveled - I don't recall)
In short, splitting WM bases will give you rather skinny epic bases.
