No Guard List is Abusive, they are all great.

:p

Serious, Most Guard Lists I have seen have holes in them, but yes, one can get harsh and the one you list could do it.

Looks like a quite solid list. Lots of reinforced armor in there. It'd get torn up by something with lots of TK weapons (Orks with Suppa-Zzap-Gunz come to mind) and probably wouldn't fare all that well against things like Tyranids which have mass numbers and the ability to resist blast markers effectively. But  yeah, it'd be a painful list for standard armies I'd suspect. Load your Warhounds with Commisars and use them for assault forces.

How did it get on in the CC though Chris ,I would only call any list abusive if it trounced all the armies it faced.

looking at the list I would love to face it in a tourney and hope to see it at call to arms.

Nah it was theorised there :) I'm just hoping I am still here for CC as I'd take something similar but with Chaos :)

What do you think of the following? ?It's light on AT shots, has no AA, and you have to work to avoid intermingling too much, but I wouldn't want to face it:
500 SC
250 Infantry Company
250 Infantry Company
250 Infantry Company
250 Infantry Company
150 Roughriders
150 Roughriders
150 Roughriders
150 Roughriders
150 Roughriders
150 Roughriders
150 Roughriders
150 Roughriders
150 Roughriders
150 Roughriders

That's 15 activations, 75 stands of infantry, 60 stands of cavalry and enough ZoC to cover the entire table.

Lots of activations true, but RRs are not that hard to break or kill.

I would not call this abusive so much as a gamble.

Slow, tricky to avoid intermingling and what happens if the opponent elects to play corner to corner?

You are also pretty poor against RA WE, and roughriders are fairly poor when it comes to being FF.

An air heavy army would also cause you problems and your SC is also the BTS.

I've played with and played against many a solid E:A SL list.

I can't say I'd label any of them broken.

Not when i've compared the best lists I can think of to the best chaos or Eldar lists I can think of anyway.

PS... I've played against some pretty rediculous ork forces with increadible model counts - I just couldn't hope to kill enough and I was playing for the draw right out of the gate! Can never say I felt that way against any guard force.

Cheers,

Asaura,

Interesting you put the deathstrikes in... I've found that they are easily one of the least effective units due to the ease of taking them out with the opponent almost always going first against me.

Still, they are quite effecitve "if" you get to fire them.

On the other hand, what I do think is powerful in your list is the consentration of storm troopers and skimmers. This is where I think the IG come alive in options.

I think the manticores also have to make the short list but I like the potential in the list.

Still, I don't think its a broken list.
