Turn two.

Gunning their engines, the DethKoptas moved to the Battlfortress and opened fire on the marine positions, killing one Assault stand. The Warband retained and bunched up behind them. Holding under the DethKopta fire, the Devestators sustained fire, killing two of the hovering Ork machines.
Seeing a good deal of battle around the Battlefortress, the StormBoyz jumped towards it. The other StormBoyz consolidated their positions around the bunker.
The Ultramarine Land Speeders moved toward the bunker and killed one StormBoyz stand with their multimeltas. The Tactical marines then assaulted the bunker, wiping out all opposition but losing three of their number (15 men really).
With the bunker falling to the Tactical Marines, the Stompas opened up them (Failed their sustained fire ini roll), killing all the marines but leaving the transports intact. The DethKoptas took up position behind the Stompas.

The Warband continues its advance on the Battlefortress, both the Orks and Ultramarines start to take casualties...

Turn Three.

The LandSpeeders moved in front of Tactical Detachment remnants and killed a Stompa, breaking the formation. The DethKoptas opened fire on marine skimmers, adding a BM but killing none.
Eager to fight, the remaining StormBoyz band assaulted the Marines around the Battlefortress and but are wiped out; the Marines not losing a man.
Finally the ThunderHawk lands and out pops the other Tactical Detachment with a Dreadnought. The Ultramarine gunship and its troops fire into the rear of the Warband, killing three Ork stands with the crossfire.
Even under the withering fire, the Warband moves closer to the BattleFortress to contest the objective.

Ultramarines=Bunker

Ultramarines 1 - Orks 0

The Warband eventually makes it to their KO'd Battlefortress, but the Ultramarines are still holding their ground.

I think the Marines did well enough but I think the Orks could have been more aggressive - perhaps assaulting in CC with the Stompas (Dks as support) against the LandSpeeders and the Warband marching more.

cool both reps up, both were great but i prefer the 2nd i think coz i had alittle idea of the rules plus i put my marker right up in the ultramarines zone making me have to move.

fave part for me in this fight was the stompas target practise at the marines in the bunker :)

We're all down Brighton-way - I'm in Burgess Hill, my bro's in Hassocks and BR33's in Patcham (all north of Brighton).

If you can be in Milton Keynes for a Tuesday evening we should be able to get a game at Games Workshop if you fancy it?

Just have to kick off the 40K players first!
