just to chime in very late on a thread I only just picked up, yes Blood bowl is a most entertaining game.

I've painted a number of teams in the past, but played very few games. I've managed to mis the start of local legues more times than I care to remember & always promise to myself to get in on the next one but it never happens.

The few games I have played have been great, it is a truly elegant system.

& Dont think I'm being a hypocrit because I'm selling my beloved Norse team - I have a human team awaiting painting & if I keep the painted, team I'll have no excuse to paint the next one ready for another tournament this year

(and I need the cash

)

Before I purchased BB, my brother and I played a game called Monsters of Midway, published in Dragon Magazine 65.

I always wondered if GW got the idea from that. :oops:

Then I purchased BB in the early 90's as a present to my brother, it was the edition with the astrogranite, we played several games and liked it quiet alot, but then a friend came home with a game called Space Marine....

i never finished painting the models, that is still on my to-do list, apparently the colored rings identifying blockers, throwers etc are no longer needed either....

Regarding american football, I tried a game last week-end called strato-matic pro football. It is completely different from a miniature based game but it was interesting.

just curious, is there anything close to BloodBowl but based on the NFL, or pro footbal (no orcs, no haflings...just football players)?
