Test pieces for my new army. The guys I usually play with are easy going when it comes to basing marines so in order to really stretch my resources I've based one marine per base. The base is an old plastic shield from GW. 1/2 in.
I've tried to paint on the chapter symbol but my brushes are to frayed to keep a point.

Love the models, and the rim of the sheild makes a very neat border for flock to sit inside.

but..... there is always a but....

Isnt 1/2" diameter base too small, rules wise?

edit:
The guys I usually play with are easy going when it comes to basing marines

doh! i really should read   s  l  o  w  e  r

Thanks guys, but after some more consideration, I decided to just do 11 figures,a tac sqaud and librarian with a rhino. I won't be playing games anytime soon so it wouldn't be very practical.

You've really gone to town. I think I see Da Kunnin' Plan now. With that kind of basing you can play both Epic and pocket 40k with the same models!  :p
