I agree that it is contridictary and confusing. :(8:   However I think that the rulling should be that necron formations break and fall back as usual.  then phase out in the end phase.  Otherwise it will be all but impossible to destroy necron formations, which will make BTS very hard to achieve.

No they don't counterdict. One sentience says that they vanish after being broken. The second tells you when they vanish. No conflict.
