I just got a pack of Hydras from SG.

The tracks are cast in one piece with the hull (which is fine, in fact I prefer it) - but they are back to front! Anyone else notiiced this about the new hydras? A bit sloppy considering the price of these things. Also no radar dish anymore.

Also if they are going to cast these as one piece items it's a shame they couldn't have chosen a neutral set of tracks, rather than giving all hydras exactly the same set of bulky stowage. I guess we were spoiled with the excellent e40k era guard.

Ah well, it's small details that won't be noticed en masse I guess. And it won't stop me buying more Hydras...

On the bright side the new ork flakwagonz are nice. I much prefer the smaller number of parts (and saving on assembly time) in the new epic range :8):

I haven't bought any of the new hydras, yet. I'm just happy that they're even in production in the first place. :D

I have mixed my new ones with e40k era ones so the formations are mixed up with a bit more variety

Hi!

I like the epic 40k era ones a lot. Much better looking than the original SM/TL version. But as Tas does, I mix them up.

Here's a (not terribly good) photo of them compared to the e40k era.

The slope of the tracks is supposed to be:

/ ?front back \ ?
\ ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?\
\ ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? /

Instead they have it the other way round ?:(

Luckily I have several of the old vintage. The Forge World ones are nice, too.
