Rule #1: Never, ever, ever, tell a submariner that the vessel he is in is a SHIP, Nor do you ever, ever, ever tell a (Put ship class here) sailor that his vessel that is above the water is a boat. This will result in a tounge lashing lasting the rest of the evening about how easy it is to tell them apart

If it only lasts one evening then you are very fortunate!

I have been having an ongoing 'professional' argument with my sister regarding Ships v Subamrines for 5 years now with no sign of abating :D  (and I'd be disappointed if it did!)

Rule #3: If you want to find Airborne Recon Teams just follow the trail of beer cans, really :D

Now wait a minute, I'll never claim to have flown recce ops, but I was the SLIR and camera operator in a spat of remote sensing flights locally - and you'll not find any beer cans leading to my door - well, the odd Guiness, p'raps...  :/  :p  :alien:

Oh- and nice one Mojarn!  :D

Airborne Recon in this case means Para Recce ... like in the 101 and 82d Airborne !  :;):   When I was with Mech Inf, we used to say "Clank, clank, I'm A tank !"  Which we would interpreted as the sound of empty beer cans & bottles rolling around inside the crew compartment !   The Germans loved to run up to our tracks and hand the troops bottles of Beer ! :D   Couldn't help thinking when my Father was in Europe, the Germans, 44 years previous, would have thrown flaming bottles of gas & diesel ...  :;):
