IIRC Swordwind was a two part pdf file...
I have both on my home computer. I'll upload them tonight when I get home from work and post a link to them here in this thread .

Well... IMNSHO not only do the new specialist games forums blow the webmaster kind of cheated on the redo.
All he did was repath some of the directory structures rather than a complete overhaul from scratch.
So in other words Swordwind *is* still on the SG website. As long as you know the name of the file your looking for you can still get is. So...
Here's the direct links to both parts:
http://www.specialist-games.com/assets/swordwindpt1.pdf http://www.specialist-games.com/assets/swordwindpt2.pdf
Grab 'em while the grabbing is good.

Hi!
Thanks for posting the links and doing the research.
Can the moderator pin these links for future use?

I sure hope they fix those types soon. It looks awfull. Considering that the are moving to online support only the least they could do is provide PDFs in the same quality as the printed books. You don't just "accidentally change and squeeze" the types like that! It's just not possible. I suppose it is an incentive for people to buy the printed version but when that's no longer available?
Cheers!

As many conspiracies as there are about GW, I don't think hostile typesetting is a valid one. *laugh*

It depends. If the raw files were transfered to a new system without the fonts before they did the pdf then yes. Still it is a bit odd as the fonts used in the original aren't really that uncommon AFAICT. Though I'm not that familiar with QuarkXpress but InDesign usually selects a similar type of font from what is available. I could certainly be wrong but I really hope they've fixed the problem when the pdf's go back online. The coloured pdfs that were up for a while didn't have these problems. You'd sort of expect them to do a bit of minimum work to avoid such problems since the BFG BBB had the same issues for a while.
...But if I WERE a nasty money grabbing company who wanted my customers to buy my printed books instead of using online stuff then that'd certainly be a good way to do it

Thanks Heresiarch, much appreciated.
As for the PDF quality I remember someone here posting a link to a topic on the SG forum about this. Apparently they put the PDF up only to realise it wasn’t the final version, so took it down and promised to post the final one as soon as Andy C returned from holiday (hopefully soon).

Yes actually.
You appear to have to go in through the front of the site and then page into the epic rulebooks section.
It might be checking cookies or something to prevent hotlinking.

Thanks, Chroma.
I'm glad to see that GW posted a good pdf file. Let's all hope that this a good sign for future releases.
