No why is it that I never find people like that...

you spend most of your time surrounded (or under) water perhaps?

:;):

Hi!

Hehe, good point Jimbo!  :D

I move around alot, about 9 times in the last 12 years. Everytime I go to a new place I immediately case out the local gaming scene and inquire about epic gamers. Even when there are none active there are always people who may have played it at some point. Once located its all a matter of gentle leading the contact towards buying their epic stuff.

Most gamers seem to jump around a lot of different systems through the years, so if epic isnt their favored one at the moment its easy to offer money so that they may spend on the one they prefer and I walk out with cheap epic minis. Heck, I have even bought stuff straight off the store shelf only to hand it over in trade for epic stuff.

Also I always like to talk shop with store owners. They appreciate it since it isnt everyday someone who understands their plight as retailers and chat with them. Depending on the rapport, I always manage a business deal with them the ends in them making some money and me saving some. Anything is better than buying retail.  :;):

Sometimes I think SG and FW must be kept afloat just through Primarch's acquisitions...

Amazing!

Hi!

Actually no. I have acquired most of my FW and SG stuff through people who no longer are in the epic hobby and unloaded their stuff cheap, through retailer friends who once in a while order stuff for me at discount (although that well has run dry...   ).

So truth be told I buy lless than you think from FW and SG direct.

Primarch

hmmm so its me alone that supports them :(

Primarch: actually I thought you made bulk orders like me and was done with it....  I think I must be doing something wrong because I certainly dont find people willing to give away their stuff, least of all FW stuff.   I think I need to change country

Hi!

Actually I dont make just "one" bulk order. For starters i dont have enough money to make such a large order on a one time basis. I try to make orders spread out. The largest order I have ever made was around 1600 dollars. I make far more 500-600 dollar orders on a more frequent basis.

You really got to move around to find deals. Most people dont move that much in their lives so are tied to a geographic location. Of course I admit a lot of it is luck and timing. Both of which are getting scarcer as time goes by.

If a collection like that is the result I'm definitly gonna buy that book
It's really quiet upsetting to see little parts of Primarchs' hoard far outweighs my totals, sigh, thanks (really) for sharing 'P'

When I see Primarch?s photos it does many things to me?

I am envious of a wonderful collection. I am inspired to get more of mine painted. I am excited that, in my own way, I am building a collection that is like his (but on a smaller scale). I am also glad because a friend has gotten more of his stuff painted.

Oh by the way, finished counting my IG (minus all Titans) and I hit 45,000 points. Not by much, but I did.

If I added in a small number ot Titans...  :;):

But I will wait until it happens the real way. I am almost at my goal.

Hi!

To think what inspired me to collect on this massive scale was a forum post on the ancient Epicentre guestbook WAAAYY back then at netepic's infancy. THe post talked about some guy with a IG army around 500k!!! :O

He listed how many tanks, super heavies and stuff like that he had. I dont know if it was the truth, but it didnt matter. I wanted to have something that big. So it began. While I had a large collection even then, the "?xpansion" began in earnest.

I'll basically buy anything GW, FW, SG or anything epic regardless who made it. My buying phase will come to a close with rounfing off the Tau this year. All that will remain is getting it painted.

Regardless of anyones army size, feel proud. Its no small accomplishment to amass any sized collection. It means you have:

1. A means to make money and enough to spend on luxuries
2. The commitment to stick with a hobby
3. The willingness to share your love for the hobby with others.

In my book everyone here meets those requirements. :)

I was going to say I wasn't envious but that wouldn't be strictly true :D
I am however quite happy with my stash to date, in fact the house is too small to collect much more but that won't be stopping me
I'm hoping to get some pics of the armies to date and post them here, keep half an eye open...

I cant complain about what I have which is quite a fair amount of metal.  Luckily neither does the wife complain as most of the time my minis are all over the place.

When I think just how much I have to paint including the other gaming systems I have, I may just complete it before retirement :D

What you have said there Primarch is very true, its what makes this hobby worth every penny:cool:
