I have gathered my Epic Scale Buildings together. I need a way to get them painted up that is quick and dirty. I have too many to spend a lot of time or money on getting them painted.

Any thoughts and/or ideas would be welcome.

I have used a bulk painting method before which works OK...

Get yourself a 3 different grey colours in sqeezy art tubes (ie cheap)
Make one up woith about 25% water so it goes on easily and slop it over everything.  As its a bit runny, it wont dry badly but will get into all the nooks and crannys.

Leave to Dry

Get the next darkest and add enough water to make it a wash and put it in an empty icrecream container or the like.  Now dunk all your dry buildings from step one and stand them on newspaper to drain and dry.

Now get the lightest grey and drybrush them with a "BIG" brush.  You wont get the detail you normally get, but you will get an overall effect on the table.

There you are - a 3 step [process that gets your buildings done and leave them in a good position where you can do more with them later without having to strip them.  The secret is a large outside work area so you can "conveyor belt" manufacture them, splash it about, be messy and not waste time.

Hope that helps - Good Luck matey!
-Paul

Method 2 - assuming they ar eplastic buildings:
1 - apply light-medium grey undercoat spray
2 - strongly dilute black acrylic paint with water and wash it with a large brush.
3 - drybrush as in Tas' method if you wish.

I am going to try using a sponge to paint my Adeptus Titanicus polystyrene buildings - I'll let you know how I get on! :;):

OK, so it sounds like a base coat, was, and dry brush.

I will try it.

For real speed miss the wash.

For my buildings I used a dark grey basecoat followed by successive lighter drybrush.

Yes I was quite curious about those as well... I still haven't painted mine but I was thinking of adding some of them together to build even larger structures and adding some more detail from cardboard and wood... Does anyone know of a good method for removing the little "dots" (I think they mush be from air drains from the mould) from  the face of the buildings?

Cheers! :)

I was going to use a razor blade and carefully slice most of them off..
Thinking about it though, there are loads in some of the windows as well... Hmm, I'll have to come up with another clever idea!

I wonder if a safety razor would shave it close enough?

===

Buildings:  I spray mine black with flat enamel, semi-dry brush with a dark gray, dry brush with a medium gray.  If a few more highlights are needed, hit it with a light gray.
