I'll be playing some of my first full games of Epic at Adepticon in a few months, using Knights. I need to kick up my building and painting, which means I need to nail down a list. The scenarios are going to be a little different (viewable here). I obviously don't yet have a 100% grasp of how the Knights are going to work, but these are a couple variants that I'm currently thinking about taking:

530 - 3 Knights Errant, 1 Baron
455 - 4 Knights Errant, Seneschal
325 - 3 Knights Paladin, Seneschal
415 - 4 Lancers, Seneschal
515 - 4 Knights Castellan, Seneschal
300 - 3 Wardens (AA Missiles and Multilaser), Seneschal
150 - 6 Rough Riders
150 - 6 Rough Riders
150 - 2 Thunderbolts
(2990)

OR

455 - 4 Knights Errant, Seneschal
455 - 4 Knights Errant, Seneschal
500 - 3 Knights Paladin, 1 Baron
515 - 4 Knights Castellan, Seneschal
400 - 3 Knights Castellan, Seneschal
175 - 6 Rough Riders: Aspirant
175 - 6 Rough Riders, Aspirant
150 - 2 Thunderbolts
150 - 2 Thunderbolts
(2975)

Thoughts or suggestions (especially on which unit to stick the Baron in)?

The Baron's fine in anything. I usually stick him in with Lancers though as their move is the same.

Without artillery i'd go with the second for the extra Tbolt formation.

Thanks for the response!

With the second list, think the double Castellans are worthwhile? I could replace the smaller unit with 4 Lancers or even really spam the air and swap it with 3-strong Wardens or Paladins and a third unit of Tbolts.

Ended up going with the following list. It worked super smoothly, and I liked every element in it. Only thing I'd maybe want is a bit more AA in case of coming up against heavier air lists, but not sure what I'd want to swap around. Maybe replace the pack of three Paladins with 3 Wardens and a couple of Seneschals? I did like having that mostly throwaway unit that stills packs some punch though.

555 - 5 Knights Errant, Seneschal

415 - 4 Knights Paladin
325 - 3 Knights Paladin

590 [BTS] - 4 Lancers, 1 Baron (power gauntlet)

515 - 4 Knights Castellan, Seneschal

175 - 6 Rough Riders, Aspirant
175 - 6 Rough Riders, Aspirant

150 - 2 Thunderbolts
150 - 2 Thunderbolt

You could drop one of the Rough Riders for another unit of TBolts or AA guns too.

Riders were good bait units for drawing enemies in and actually surprisingly effective in assaults, but yeah, dropping one for another set of t-bolts is probably a good idea. Would also get me points for a seneschal on one of the Paladin units, which is a nice little bonus.
