Post subject:  Dropzone(s) - how many?

I was just reading a battle report involving 4 IW dreadnought packs planetfalling.

The way I read it in the rulebook it seems to be that there's one dropzone that all the formations drop into but the report gave different dropzone coordinates for each formation.

I know we've been here before where I've read the rules incorrectly so I just wanted some clarification.

Especially now that my regular opponents are looking for alternatives to the recently quite impotent Thunderbus attacks and Planetfall's come up quite a lot lately.

Thanks again guys

check the official FAQ

from section 4.4

Q: Let’s say I have Battle Kroozer. I also happen to have four Ork Landas. Do all have to land within 15cm of same drop zone marker or is it possible to set up multiple drop zones? Or is only way to have multiple drop zone markers to get multiple spacecraft?
A: Each transport formation may have its own drop zone. In this example there could be up to four drop zones, one for each Landa. If you use multiple drop zones, you will need to record clearly which Landa is allocated to each drop zone.

Thanks. Unfortunately I seem to have to memorize everyone's special rules at the moment until people get used to them. And with rules in several places amending or overruling the main rulebook I'm struggling with some of the more obscure changes.

I'm going throught the FAQ and errata again so hopefully I can stop bugging you all with rules queries. Here's hoping :)

This is why the tournament pack exists so the FAQs and rule book text are together in one place
