Hi there,

Randon question. I have lots of different warhammer armies I am looking to get rid of. They are quite heavely character based and therefore I am of the opinion that I might get more money selling them off individually rather than as an army. (they are not painted)

Would it please be possible to get peoples thought's on this please?

Thanks for any help,

Rob

You usually get more $$$ if sold separately, IMO ... Also state you'll combine shipping ... And remember to figure out what is better for you, FREE shipping or otherwise. If I offer free shipping, I sometimes raise the price a bit ... I don't want to lose $$$ on the deal ! Image

I would split it too. I only offer the army in bulk on a trade forum like here, because it is the only place I've ever seen fair prices offered for full armies. Even still it almost always ends up being split.

Also it should be noted if you do do an auction style and you have a very firm idea of what they are worth in your head... be prepared for something to not sell where you expect it too. To avoid this start the auction at where you feel comfortable at selling for a minimum or it's all gamble. It is true some people like the gamble and get caught up in bidding wars... but i won't lie... i like to snipe stuff for cheap prices.

I've sold hundreds of items on eBay in the past and I virtually always started the bidding at 0.01. You pay less initial fees that way and get more people interested and watching. Occasionally you'll sell something for low, but most things sell well by the end as more people have seen it and wanted it.

Unless you can find someone willing to trade a whole army from a forum then fire EBay splitting the armies rather than selling them as one is normally better.

Hi!

This way of doing things on ebay seems to definitely yield more money.

It's part of human psychology. The "no lower limit" makes people think "cheap", but usually they wind up paying more.

Go figure. ;)

Just as a counter point. A friend of mine used to own an e-bay shop. Don't worry, he isn't that terrible guy. I checked.

He says that he finds that something that is mislabeled can often be well worth him bidding on and getting so that he can re-sell it. He dealt in GW's main lines, MTG and similar gaming related stuff.

He found that if something was mislabeled, it could go for a very low amount and the bid would be way under. He also said that there are a few people out there with some program that searches for these misspelt/mislabeled bids and tries to undercut the true value and go for reselling.

Mislabeling can include misspelling, not giving the actual name, or even not giving the name that most people know a thing by. So seraphims would also need "warhammer 40k Sisters of battle with jump packs, Seraphims". Or something along those lines.

Keep this in mind when you are labeling your stuff.

Also, he said that it is far better to know what something is worth and list it as "Buy it now" however that was in the context of him owning a store, and having the vast patience (coupled with the discount a store gets for listings) to wait months for certain items to sell.
