My friend Randy and I played our first game of Future War Commander a few days ago. We had lots of fun and I think I am really going to like these rules. Check out the write up on my blog.

Very interesting ! Very Nice models and terrain. I prefer smaller games like that where you really have to use tactics, manuever, etc. ... As opposed to the massed Epic games GW envisioned and ascribe to. With units lined up shoulder to shoulder, hub to hub, like an Ancient, Fantasy, Napy, ACW, etc. game ... Of course GW wants to sell more models so ... that is probably their angle among others ! ;)

Hi!

Future war commander is a top notch set of rules. I have enjoyed their whole line (Blitzkrieg commander, etc)! :0

I played with Cold War Commander, the system is nice, but a bit unbalanced (not like the original Warmaster)! With a lucky command check, you can win the game in one turn -maybe FWC is different :)

@rastamann: so limiting to 3 orders sounds reasonable, but do you give them a guaranteed 1st activation?

We alway do activation no matter what system [even with SM1] with back and forth like in a chess game. One side activates a unit then the other, back & forth ... If you don't do it that way ... you almost go back to primative/ backward/ oldest school IGOUGO ... :o The Horror ... the Horror ... :nooo >:D ;D 8)

@Legion 4: So you don't think the opportunity fire rules provide enough option for the other side to respond to enemy actions? Do you still allow opportunity fire? Do you make any changes to facilitate this changing activation?
