Not the same setting, but some of the UK chaps who play at warhammer world have been hassled by GW employees in the past afaik, checking to see if there was any forumware around

yeah that was us, and to be fair Mike
was using forumware monoliths and an army of Exodus Wars edenites.... but ever since then, they have come over and snooped around when they saw us playing warmaster even with 100% legit figures....

Loosely related, but I walked into GW Guildford the other day and the shop manager was making a proper effort to get me playing Epic in the shop. Must be a new policy as the last I heard Epic was banned in store. It was always amusing to walk in looking for a pot of paint and field the "what do you play?" question. You could almost see the tumbleweed roll past when Epic was mentioned, or sometimes just "is that the really small scale stuff?"
At xmas time, it has become a tradition for a few of us to have a big warmaster game at GWHQ and this year they were super pleased to see us there, there is even a picture of myself and MikeT on the warhammer world facebook page, they wrote a blurb about old games being welcome provided GW rules and miniatures are being used so maybe their attitude overall is changing?
