Thread for the idea of a one-off World Championship in London. Would be in 2019 or 2020. Usual European teams plus at least one from North America and/or Australia/NZ. If there is interest this can happen. |

Nice idea! I'd suggest a two day event to make it more worthwhile some traveling very far. I'm hardly the UK's strongest player but if there's a big enough venue to allow anyone who wants to then I'd love to come play. Wonder if there's anyone else to join in with a team Wales? If it were a success and another happened in a year, or two, or whatever some UK players would be obliged to travel to Oz or NA to make things fair. Which lists? I'd suggest allowing both Epic-UK lists and Net-EA lists. There's a downside in complexity and unfamiliarity but we can cope and it means players can use their familiar lists without giving the already strong UK players an advantage. There's also a wider variety of lists and army build available then too e.g. I like to run a mech and armour ground based SM list using the Net-EA list that performs fairly well, but it isn't viable or possible using the Epic-UK SM lists. I know some UK players grumble about the Net-EA Krieg list being overpowered but there's time till then to try and nag those responsible to tweak it. |

I personally think a World Championships would be a one-off. The UK could however go to the USA and/or Australia after though as an international fixture rather than with lots of nations there. The most likely result I can see if any a Rest of the World team made up of a mixture of non-Europeans. That would only need 3-4 from non-European countries to want to come to be viable - and would still be fun. |

On a separate note my view is that the type of lists used should be decided by those flying long-haul. Only fair. So I assume NetEA rather than Epic UK. |

I would think about coming. London would be an easy sell. The family would have shit to do. |

My misses lived in London for a year. Sadly didn't get into epic while she was there. But could definitely try and sell a holiday to her. |

Sounds like a great idea - why not have it every 2 or 3 years, and get a trophy made to be taken home by the winning team? |

There is clearly enough early interest to look at this seriously. Question for those not in Europe: Is this possible in 2019, or for longer-term planning reasons for such a big trip should we look at 2020 instead? If it works in London there can immediately be discussions as to whether to do more in the future (we can have a trophy either way). I should add that due to Brexit the UK economy is not great, including weaker sterling, meaning that the current exchange rate is friendly to foreign tourists in London - you'll get more for your money. |

I actually could seriously consider a 2020 or 2021 plan |
