Hello,
So finally some informations for the upcoming EEC 2018 at 08./09. September 2018

We will continue the format used by previous tournaments. It will be a team tournament and each team should have 4 members and a team captain. Each country’s community decides on how to choose their teams and captain as they see fit as previously. Teams from different countries will have precedence, however a country may bring more than one team if all 8 positions are not taken by actual countries (a likely event based on attendance previous years).

We have enough room for up to 8 teams (possible more). We want to give brumbaers matching tool another try, because with his tool we don´t need even team numbers. With the tool there is no swiss matching and no team on team gaming.
Five game rounds will be played over two days, three on Saturday and two on Sunday. Each round will be 3 hours maximum.

Participating teams:

1. UK1
2. UK2
3. Germany1
4. Germany2
5. Sweden
6.
7.
8.

Tournament Schedule:

Saturday
09:00 - 09:30 Registration
09:30 - 09:45 Information
09:45 - 12:45 Game 1
12:45 - 13:30 Lunch
13:30 - 16:30 Game 2
16:45 - 19:45 Game 3

Sunday
09:00 - 09:15 Registration.
09:15 - 12:15 Game 4
12:15 – 13:00 Lunch
13:00 - 16:00 Game 5
16:00 - 17:00 Ending – Prize ceremony.

A player's score in each game will be based on out tournament scoring system. A win is worth 3 points, a win by points (difference 300 points and more) is worth 2 points and a draw is worth 1 point. A team's score is the total of the four players individual score. The number of objective will by the tie breaker.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and best painting (per popular vote).

I got some prices:
vanguard miniatures sponsored 3 vouchers of 10 £ ( https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk )
brumbaer gave me some of his 3D printed SM miniatures
twowolvesfactory ( https://www.2wolvesfactory.de )

There will be a draw for the prices after the tournament.. so every player have the opportunity to get a nice miniature ;-)

I have added a WIP picture of the Trophies.

Lists used will be the Approved ones in the NetEA tournament pack. ---> http://www.tp.net-armageddon.org/

The different list are divided into race categories. A team may only bring one list from each race. The different races are listed in the link above.
As we want to have 5 nice games, it would be nice not to have armies that exploits failures in the army lists (I look at you thunderfuck ;D )

Lists shall be sent to the organizer (Mathias duke_duke at gmx.de) on Sunday August 12th at the latest by the Team Captains. Any additional lists getting approved and added to the NetEA website before that deadline will also be allowed. The organizer posts the lists here in this thread 2 weeks prior the event.

COST
The price for EEC 2018 is EUR 10
The deadline for paying the fee for participation is set to Sunday August 12th 2018. If possible the team captain of each team should pay for his team. Paypal (sending money to friends) is preferred. Further information (paypal account etc.) will follow.

paypal for teams (preferred):
paypal.me/sascha2311/40

or for single players:
paypal.me/sascha2311/10

The venue:

Wohlrabedamm 24, 13629 Berlin, Germany
The venue is near Tegel Airport and is easily accessible by bus (123 and 139) and subway (U7)

Contact:
The e-mail of the organizer is: duke_duke at gmx.de
To minimize confusion the contact should be between the team captains and the organizer.

Where to stay?

There are a couple of hotels within walking distance to the venue:

Mercury Hotel Berlin City West
Holiday Inn Berlin City - West

If there are any questions, suggestions, advice, corrections please feel free to mail or PM me.

best regards,
Mathias

I would chose whichever is easiest for you (providing both have good transport connections).

Pretty easy really on destination, although Hannover is technically better for the UK team given it's a bit closer! Happy with whatever is easier to organise though.

Berlin is a lot cheaper to reach by air; However, either is the same distance by car, so either is fine by me.

Guess he is talking about the GiantFanatic. In 2017 it was on 30.09., don't think there is a fixed date yet for 2018

Interestingly enough, there are some good deals on flights today - a date and host city confirmation could get a lot of quick entrants.

Hey guys, any more details as yet? (Venue etc) would definitely help with organising stuff like hotels and flights (assuming I make the team that is)

Thanks for the confirmation :)

We'd better start getting a UK team together then!

Damn... just saw that my wife seems to be away and I am home alone with my daughter on that weekend.

Hopefully I can arrange something to meet up with you.

cheers

Great. A quick question, we chatted very vaguely last year about permitting Epic UK lists where there is no equivalent approved netea list (eg Dark Angels) at the last EEC. This would allow a number of iconic races who have been playtested at a large number of tournaments but are not currently in the netea tournament pack.

Is this still the plan or are we sticking to netea lists only? Happy either way, just looking to clarify.
