I can't see any possible better way to settle that than by getting May to play Sturgeon 3k standard tournament scenario, winner takes all. I look forward to the debate on who gets to take Biel Tan.

No, please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion! Let's not bicker and argue over who said what and who were lied to and who left who and who wants to leave up and join someone else. We are here to witness the union of two young people in the joyful bond of holy we... Erhm

;D ;D ;D

But since we have some of the UK members here - would you travel to play in a NetEA tourney? Because that seems to be the consensus here on the continent (not meant as a sny remark - this time at least ::) )

Yes, and in the past some UK guys have travelled over to Europe. Main reason I haven't travelled yet has been family and fitting in with the UK tournament calendar.

I broached the topic of attending this with my darling wife last night, admid the barrage of angry shouting that greeted my simple request I could discern a few phrases such as '...your priorities need examining...' '...if you pay for *me* to go swanning off for a weekend overseas...' and '...never see your children again...' from this I'm assuming that my attendance would be somewhat frowned upon by my family so I'm afraid Team Scotland will have to find another albatross....

Now give it 10-15 years and then the conversation will go a bit like mine.

Me: Do you mind if I go to Copenhagen for a tournament in September?
Wife: No it'll give me a free weekend.

Jobs a good'un.

Now I just need to get onto the UK team.

No issue with playing netea lists. You guys are being kind enough to host us! Your main problem will be getting me to go home again. I love Copenhagen!

Only one year has mandated Epic-UK lists, and that was when we in the UK ran the event :)

Organisers choice as to what lists are ok at their event.

I thought he means 'after brexit' (sorry if not).

To which I would say: of course we [Brits] would. We've been travelling the world for centuries, going wherever there are fair peoples to conquer visit. If your country doesn't make it difficult to get over the border, we will continue to show up with our passports the same as we do now (which is a lot). Though being wanted hasn't necessarily been a prerequisite for our colonial forefathers :) Almost everyone has a passport, we're not part of Schengen anyway, and theres zero difference for us whether entering Switzerland or France. Even the dumb US visa/ESTA system is barely a deterrent.

Back on topic: there's a slight chance of me being able to make the trip, but it's a moot point as making the UK team would be the far bigger issue! Who of the EUK crowd is currently planning to go anyway?

Kart Dan and I are forming some sort of North Sea alliance with our Scandinavian brethren - if start eating nothing but shortbread now I'm sure you could join us!

I went to Edinburgh a few weeks ago and ate some haggis flavour crisps, that totally counts right? Also I am pathologically unable to visit IKEA without eating meatballs and lingonberry juice. So practically scandinavian too.

Just a quick FYI - I spotted one of the French tram members from 2 years ago on FB, I asked him to put the word out to see if France wants to enter a team again
