Nice one. Thanks for posting those army pics. I enjoy looking at them much more than reading a list. :)

Alas my BTS did not survive a single game... and my 11/12 might suggest a minor flaw.

Personal favourite moment with the list, Al sending his terminators into the BTS and the combat going for two rounds... that was messy. That, and killing warphounds with the landa+warband - of course, both landas dying was not part of the plan, stupid landas.

That was a very entertaining - and messy - assault.

Oddly enough, almost the same thing happened again against Cranium27's BTS Leman Russ company in the following game.

Yeah - your landas were definitely of the paper mache variety. Though perhaps I shouldn't have suggested you sub the thunderhawk model for the actual landa model which had only moments before died in firefight to the warphound and which then promptly died in firefight to the other warphound? Stewards enquiry needed?

Firstly a big thanks to Steve for organising the event.

As mentioned previously I took Steel Leigon along having played Marines at the previous two tournaments I have been able to attend. Perhaps not the wisest choice as the last time I played SL was back with SM2 rules!. I went with a slightly eclectic force :-

REGIMENTAL HQ [500]
Supreme Commander, 12 Infantry, 7 Chimera

INFANTRY COMPANY [250]
Commander, 12 Infantry

INFANTRY COMPANY [250]
Commander, 12 Infantry

TANK COMPANY [650]
10 Leman Russ

STORM TROOPER PLATOON [350]
8 Storm Troopers, Valkyrie Transport

ARTILLERY BATTERY [250]
3 Basilisks

FLAK BATTERY [150]
3 Hydra

FLAK BATTERY [150]
3 Hydra

VULTURE SQUADRON [300]
4 Vultures

THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS [150]
2 Thunderbolts

I expected them to die in their droves and they certainly did not dissapoint. First game was against Duncan's all teleporting terminator list. Even with his assistance and advice on round 3 I managed to get obsessed abouit killing a unit of terminators in round 4 and managed to turn what was probably a draw into a 0-3 victory for Duncan. Many thanks to Duncan for a most enjoyable game and some useful tips on how to use my guard list.

Being rubbish at remembering names (much appologies) I can't recall who gave me a drubbing in round two. Again I was facing Marines who gradually picked off my units, with only my numbers holding it to a 0-2 loss. I probably tried to be too offensive with the army and learnt that being a bit more defensive may be a good option.

Game three was against Al's Marine force. We both pushed down respective right flanks. The guard got the worst of it again however partly on the back of three failed activation rolls even using the supreme commander. The only good rolls I had during the game were an infantry company gunning down a soliitary remaining terminator stand with five out of seven hits - all but one were saved. Another 0-3 loss.

So wooden spoon to me, but as consilation I did come away with Players choice best painted army.

Next tournament for me will likley be September - I wonder if I can paint an Orc army by then......
