Last time he played me he had pretty bad dice actually and I was lucky to draw.
Thanks Chris,it seems people only remember my hundreds of good rolls but always forget the games where I roll the odd bad dice
.
@Chroma, I think the main reason I do well at tournaments is the sheer number of games I get to play.
Over the last 3 or 4 years I've probably averaged 2 or 3 GT scenario games per week(against tournament standard players)thats not including tournaments I attend.
I've also played a game every week from pre release/testing of the game.
Plus until recently I played a 6000-12000 point game almost every week or a couple of different scenarios.
On top of that when my son paints a new army he wants to play small test games (1500 points),sometimes we've played 30 -40 games over a long weekend although this rarely happens now as he's working.
Then on top of that if you include theory/test games against myself it means I've played quite a few games.
I believe I've faced every conceivable type of list that can be brought to a table dozens of times each,I've faced,
Drop pod heavy armies (4Forlorn Hope/5 Scouts even Ork drop cans)
Air Assault heavy armies
Heavy Air transports (8 T/hawks IIRC)
All War Engine armies
All Titan armies (including 2 Imperators in 1 army and 3 Mega Gargants in another)
All infantry armies and all AV armies whilst using lists suited for the opposite.
Stupidly high activation armies
Low activation armies
All Fearless armies
Chaos armies including dozens of Oblitorators and lots of Princes etc.
Handicap matches where 1 players used 50-100% more points of troops.
plus anything anyone could come up with (TRC included
).
When I'm at a tournament I've usually faced everything before so I'm rarely surprised by lists, even Tim's extreme attempts (his Lost and Damned/Chaos War Engine and Eldar Nightwing heavy one's spring to mind).
As for writing a Bat-Rep,where do you think I would find the time
.
I'll see if anyone wants to help with one but it will probably be the kiss of death.
