As an aside Biggles accounts for only 8 of these games and amazingly they aren't all losses - theres even a win :O

LOL :) Actually, I distinctly remember two wins - with my kind of luck these sort of things stick in the memory (the other one, my first ever in a competition was against Steve - who has pummelled my troops mercilessly ever since :p )

Thanks Dave,
I have corrected the 1st two entries of the thread - now I wonder who we need to "nobble" for next round, Dave :p

Dave has already done it for us as he's not going to the Club Challenge. Now what new race to try next  :;):

Could we get races organised by the highest percentage of wins, rather than total overall score?

Wins, draws and losses this year, by army:

L&TD : W6
Black Legion: W9 L6
Marines: W10 L14
Orks: W2 D1 L9
Siegemasters : W1 L2
Steel Legion : W6 D2 L16
Eldar : W6 D1 L5

Percentages this year:

L&TD -
100% Wins
0% Draws
0% Losses

Black Legion -
60% Wins
0% Draws
40% Losses

Marines -
42% Wins
0% Draws
58% Losses

Orks -
17% Wins
8% Draws
75% Losses

Siegemasters:
33.3% Wins
0% Draws
66.6% Losses

Steel Legion:
25% Wins
8% Draws
66.6% Losses

Biel Tan Eldar:
50% Wins
8% Draws
42% Losses

It's interesting to note a very low occurance of draws this year so far, as compared to last year's results.

That puts a percentage-based leaderboard at this early stage of the season like this:

1st - L&TD : 100%
2nd - Black Legion : 60%
3rd - Biel Tan Eldar: 50%
4th - Marines : 42%
5th - Siegemasters : 33.3%
6th - Steel Legion : 25%
7th  - Orks : 17%

Umm, I am not sure where you get these figures. for example I presume that the LatD have won 6 (not 7) as there have only been 3 games each competition. (the 4th figure presented by dptdexys is for painting/sportsmanship). And draws?

While I can see where you are going here, the inferences are a little difficult especially when the tournaments use different scoring mechanisms.

I have asked for the electronic results to pass on to Mephiston for inclusion in some form of database. Ideally at that point, we will have more detailed info like:-
- the makeup of each army
- the opposing army and player for each battle
- the objectives gained by each side and the turn the game ended
- possibly "extreme" luck either way or 'man of the match'

Amonst many things, I think it's far too early in the year to start drawing any conclusions!

The only thing I've remarked upon is the very low occurance of draws, which was remarked upon after FSA, and seems to have continued in Open War.

From the percentage-based stats, I think that's the only statistically significant trend at this stage in the season.

96 results
40 Wins
4 Draws
52 Losses

42% Wins
4% Draws
54% Losses

From our sample size to date, that is a statistically noteworthy deviance from last year's results. Everything else has had too few results back to be noteworthy, so far ...

"Draws" depends upon the scoring systems and how that interprets the E:A points system in turn. That said, there tends to be few games that get into 4th or 5th turns

(the 4th figure presented by dptdexys is for painting/sportsmanship).

Uhhhhh, I may have included painting / sports from Open War  as games...

May have. :D

Given that there were 18 competitors in the first tournament and 14 in the next; and that each tournament had 3 games, I would suggest that there should be a total of 96 results (ie 32x3) from 48 games, so your figure of 104 seems a little strange :p

I've corrected my error (I hope) and arrived at 96 results, which corrisponds with your maths, so the above figures should now be correct.

The figures posted by dptdexys are

Total Score, Name, Game1, ?Game2, Game3, Painting.

What is and isn't a draw varies between tournaments. For example, the last OW has 'Stalemate' at 0 Victory points difference (as the OW rulespack notes this is almost impossible) 'Draw' Is at 1-300 VP difference giving 13 and 12 points.

Whatever the scheme, a draw, to my reckoning, is where neither player gets 2 goals and more goals than his opponent.
I had a Draw against Simon White with Marines so I know Marines should have at least one Draw result .
