Hi all
with our local group we decided to create an experimental list for the Adeptus Custodes/Sister of Silence.

The main goal is to create a specialist army, with small but powerful, using the information from the current rulebook of WH40K and latest Horus Herey book Inferno.

We came up with this draft list, that we tested last week against a Tau force of 3000 points (a fair 2 - 2 in the end)

IT is fun to play, and I am looking to try it as soon as possible. The unit are quite strong and are capable of wipe another unit in a single round, especially in close combat.
The teleport upgrade available to almost everything gives the army the opportunity to be very dangerous everywhere.
On the other hand, small units tend to be destroyed easily, even whith a 3+ AS 6+ IS, so it means that when they arrive, they have to do some damage, because they wont see another turn (especially with my damned dice...)


PS: we found out yesterday that on the EpicAU site it was published another smaller list in the last few days, if someone here is in contact with that forum please let us know, because we tried to register there as well but no response received so far.

The EpicAU site is where the Horus Heresy work occurs. Since you're envisioning a 40k, not 30k what-if take on them it shouldn't be an issue. They'll get around to accepting the sign up in a few days so don't worry about the delay. I'm certain that they'd be happy to get additional feedback on the development. We should move this into NetEA Other Forces as SoS and Custodes are not actually Marines but their own special thing.

As a recommendation, I'd call this a Talons of the Emperor list since it's not just Custodes

I just updated a new version of the file. We managed to play some games and tune the list to be as fair and playable as possible.
Tested against Tau, AdMech and Marines.

Uploaded version for the list, with the profile for THE EMPEROR!
We tested the list, there are some updates that are quite interesting (apart from the big guy)

Let us now if you try it :)

1.1 update of unit data sheet and list structure, fixed the pirces of many units
1.2 Reduce price for kharon transpor, reduced price for caladius unit and extra piece, reduces price for thunderhawk, reduced price coronus, remuovd to all veicle invulnerable save, reduces price for dreadnought, reduced price for custodes units
1.3 Changed the unit type of the jetbikes to LV and added the option for Teleport. Changed the point cost of Haetaron to 300 but removed the Reinforced Armour. Vexilla limited to 0-3. Changed cost of Sisters and increased unit number to 8
1.4 Changed 0-1 terminator, set FF of terminator to 4+, incresed points for Sister of Silence

Hi all
version 2.3 updated, with some minor changes. We have played a lot of match so far, and we are really pleased of how the list runs.

At a first glance, the list seems to be really powerful and nearly unstoppable, as the greatest of the (trans)human warriors should be =D
In reality, it turns out to be quite complicate to use. If overestimated, Custodes units can be bogged down easily.

If someone is willing to test it, please let us know what you think :)

Hi all !!!

We made some changes to the list:

I will post the version 3.0 here so you can give us some feedback about the army list.

We had a test game.
3k points against Biel Tan using the normal tournament scenario (I apologize in advance for not taking pictures, I was too busy with the match). The match was very balanced seeing victor Bieltan 2-1 managing to keep all his 3 ojectives and all player had at least 1 unit in the opposing midfield.

The list as modified allows to have a certain flexibility in the choices of the army composition; always remaining a very aggressive list.

This change was made to make each unit playable without making the army too unbalanced.

It was a deliberate choice not to give the army models with scouts and barrages (leaving the Psy Titan)
I still thank you for the possibility of being able to continue this project
