Ok, here's the next Epic Armageddon list for the Dark Realm range. Now some might be wondering why would I bother doing one for the Pax Arcadians, when there are already 1001 human lists out there? Well for completeness for one thing, and because I don't think there is a niche list out there that covers the sort of thing the Arcadian range is aimed at, nor the combination of unit types that exist in the Arcadian range. Once again I've focused upon expanding the background, with a longer backstory, and linking this to other Epic background as a priority.

The Pax Arcadians are in many ways a force much more like those in existence in today's world (including in their various psychologies), and this perspective of humanity is what I have tried to convey in the list.

Strengths of the Arcadians include: Tanks, Artillery, Air Transport, and a greater degree of specialisation in these.
Weaknesses include: No close combat specialists, infantry with weak/no armour, fairly inflexible formation sizes, no large War Machines, no walkers, no shields, low FF ability of non-infantry, and also a lack of many abilities such as fearless and inspiring.

Special rules for the Pax Aracdians: Simpler here, you choose one of three Arcadian world types, two types of which convey a combination of advantages and disadvantages. (So really it's almost a three lists in one deal).

Unit stats and points were bit of a headache as the Pax range is quite large! More work definitely needed but a start has been made and shouldn't be too terrible.

NOTE: Updated to v1.1. 2015.11.10
Ramjacks and Hammerjack numbers corrected.
Medium and Heavy supports down from 8 strong to 4 strong, and can be taken as upgrade to infantry platoon.
Up to 2 buggies can be added to an infantry platoon
AA able to be added to Core Formations.

Thanks for spending the time to do this list, its great to see alternate lists!

A couple of points, if I may....

I think the transport options are the wrong way round for the Ramjacks (TPT 2) and Hammerjacks (TPT 1) in the list it states you need 4 hammerjacks or 8 Ramjacks, should be the other way round.

Hammerjacks, I reckon they shouldnt be a transport vehicle at all. More like a close range howitzer / mortar support vehicle. I have the models, they dont look like transports, have no doors etc...

Support platoons, make them 4 strong instead of 8? as an upgrade for a normal company? either medium or heavy?

Tanks - in general, have an option to field them 4 strong?

Buggies, perhaps have them as upgrades for infantry companies, purchased in 2's?

Gunships - move them to the aerospace section and have them in 2's?

Just some thoughts... ;D

Oops, yes you are correct thanks! Will change when I update it.

That's an interesting idea, though the Intruder is already a howitzer/mortar support vehicle so would need to be different somehow. The main problem with this idea though is that it would deviate from the existing Seeds of War fluff for the vehicle, which I'm reluctant to do at this stage.

Was leaning towards this when making the list already so very probable change. Probably will also allow the AA units to be taken as an upgrade rather than just as a separate formation too.

Possibly and they nearly ended up like this also (4 with option to purchase 2-4 more). Currently only the heavy tanks are in 4's though. Part of the worry I have is with balance and the risk of the list becoming too much of a "popcorn" list. In general Seeds of War formations seem smaller than what you see in Epic. Need to have think on it. But hey one can always test with 4's, halving the points of the formation.

Doesn't sound unreasonable to attach a couple of buggies, any particular thoughts behind why this should be so though?

This was a tricky one, as they and the Cavaliers count as aircraft in the Seeds of War list, but they seem much more like the Valkyries and Vultures in nature which are skimmers rather than flyers in epic. Once again my worry with 2's is the popcorn risk.

I may be missing something glaringly obvious, but what does the "Advanced" upgrade do?

Cheers Yorkie, regarding "Advanced", see the special rules section, it has an effect if you choose a Corporate State or Insurgency Army.

So, if I take a corporate state world, i have to take units with the advanced upgrade? and if I take an insurgency I cant take them?

So its not a special rule as such, but a force selection thing.

Yep that's right. Or you take a normal Barony and just ignore it :)
Just a rule to try and reflect the different sorts of forces Arcadians might bring into the field, and give them a bit more flavour.
