Sorry this took so long to post...  :vD

This is a rough attempt at a "buffet style" Tau armylist.  The point values are completely untested but are derived from the current v5.1 values, tweaked slightly.

Yes, there's a potential for "popcorn", but the Cadres will be extremely weak... and Tau seem to have the "popcorn" problem regardless of army list so far.  *laugh*

So, please take a look and let me know what you think... I promise not to get mad!   :agree:

Why the 0-3 limit on Skyrays?

Why the 0-3 limit on Skyrays?

That's per Cadre...

And, your just trying to limit me man, your working for THEM now    :p

Strange that the only limit is on the AA tank.

In theory I could have 3000 point formation of scorpionfish all with AA attacks! [Wow, 36 DC, only one thing to activate each turn, one BTS, massive ZOC, gets my vote!]

Read the Cadre limitations... it's 4-12 units... War engines count as double their DC... so... two, max, per formation...

And Scorpionfish don't have AA... do they?

Same as Skyray.

Missile Gunship indeed!

Guess I just always missed that line!  *laugh*

That's about the most popcorn heavy list ever.

Eldar can still do it worse... or more effectively.  *laugh*

And it's a first draft... the "size limit" could easily be put to "six to twelve" units per Cadre.

As I said in the other thread, if any race/army should have "high flexibility", it should be the Tau!

Certainly it should be the Space Marines ;)
I did something similar like you with the Space Marines (but not as radical)and got subsequently shouted down :D

It can be found here (not finished):

No, I do recall your Marine "All-in-one" list, but I think it drew from a bunch of other Marine lists and incorporated it into one list, and that was part of what people didn't like.

The Tau are *already* nearly an "All-in-one" list, and that doesn't seem likely to change, so, using the units that are already in the list, I took it to the "next level"... *laugh*

Still probably going to get shouted down... just seems to be the [i]Way of the Tau[/i}...

And, if you wanted to see "popcorn", you should've seen the Kroot section I decided to cut out for now!   :O
