I really like the lobba entry - it's very BA to adopt a "sneaky humie taktik" like firing barrages!

# 2 isn't about dropping Stormboyz, just taking the formation back to 150/na/na.  You could still field big mobz by paying the Extras cost, just no discount for Big and Uge.

Okay, so basically, several people have suggested taking stuff out to focus the list but every suggestion is met with several people saying "No, I think that's in character for them."

Let's try another option:

Drop the Tankaz mob and just have Big Wagons in with Blitz Brigades; or

Drop Blitz Brigades and just have wagonz in with the Tankaz.

I would be ok dropping the tankaz, but I like the blitz brigades.... but this probably doesnt help much. Sorry.  :blush:

I'll have to pull up the last WIP and see what has been included.  In any case, it won't have major changes from the previous posting.

I've thought about it several times over the past months and I've pretty much come to the conclusion that although it could be used to build an identical list to the "core" ork army and that arguably dilutes the focus of the list, I think that's okay.  In this case, I think the Blood Axes should sometimes take the field just like a "normal" ork horde and even with their special gewgaws they would have access to much of the same gear as all of Orkdom.

I have a .doc and .pdf version of the 1.1 (WIP) list ready.

There were relatively few changes, mostly editorial stuff and making the list prettier.

I put Big Wagonz at 75 points - same firepower and durability as a Stompa, considerably less assault ability, but faster and with transport capacity.  It also fills a fairly favorable spot in the army list with respect to being able to do things like shield other AVs from fire.  Right now they are Transport (1), but I'd still like to go for (1+grot) if you guys think that's reasonable to include after the bump of 10 points.

I also took out the discounted Big and Uge Stormboyz mobz.

Quick question: I have the latest PDF of Blood Axes I found so this is based on it..
Is it in intentional that Warband cannot take lobbas? (it can take lobbawagons, after all)

250 points for 8 BP with blitz? 225 for 10BP with big gunz? That's rather cheap I think.


First, the Lobbawagon stat line was goofed up at some point and I kept forgetting to fix it.

I've yet to figure out how to handle variable-BP formations.  Because of the BP table, they just don't scale up appropriately.  In general, though, I'd say 1BP is better than a Big Gun shot, and lobba units are downgraded in other ways to make up for the improved firepower.

The Lobbas went from 5+FF to 6+ to offset the improvement.  So, they have more ranged fire but are paper thin against any kind of assault.  Some people commented that is not enough.  In my play style, they are commonly involved in assaults so that makes a difference but not everyone agrees.

Lobbawagonz should be a 6+ armor, as opposed to a normal wagon with 5+ armor.  Apparently, I boosted the armor at some point instead of reducing it.  Also, I think the range should be dropped back to 45cm.  (I'll go do that now...)

Those changes may still not be enough.  In the end, I simply haven't tested it enough to feel confident, which is why I never submitted it to Fanatic.  I would like to get them close enough to do a 1:1 exchange for the Big Gunz and Wagonz but but that might not be possible.  Maybe the units should be 35 points for Lobbas and 50 points for Lobbawagonz or something similar.
