Thanks for the battle report, Bissler! To me, there is nothing that screams Epic like a full city-scape battle field.

It will be a combined army of IG, SM and titan legions VS my full Tau Army (25-27K)
defending a city protected by a river
It will be a combined ground air assault with all my IG/SM Flyers and airborne troops.

Ooft! Sounds like it'll be a belter! (That's a Scottish expression that means the game will be good!)

Bissler, that was awsome ! And in my honour too. An honour indeed sir, I salute you.

And a cool report, army selection and battle field. I like those roads too. Shame the IG got smashed, damn stunties. Next time play them at their own game and use more support. Though, looking at your force you did have a fair bit.

Like you said, a Titan or marine company would of been handy.

How do you use gorgons ? Steam them down a road behind a Super Heavy spear head and hope you soak up the incoming. If not, thats a failed armourd assult for you.

Looking forward to the next one and yes, its great to see this place active again.

Cheers Dogtrooper, I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed my report! I could imagine you would have been shaking your head at my tactical ineptness with the IG though! I'll do better next time... couldn't be any worse!!!

Thanks also for the tip with the Gorgons, I'm hoping that will come in very handy in future battles! I wish though that they were carrying better infantry. I noticed on the IG Gold rules that packing them full of assault troops is actually 50pts cheaper than the tactical option which I think I'd prefer. Tactical troops and their equivalent for other forces I think are a terrible waste and normally pretty ineffectual in battles. The best use I get out of them is defending the odd objective but they really are nothing more than cannon fodder!

Got to ask, any plans to submit a battle report yourself? I'd be keen to see your forces in action!

I'm hoping to submit another report either next Sunday or the following Monday. I'm going to test out the first of my "It's All Mine" scenarios so it will be slightly different to the standard battles (though shouldn't be radically different). It does amount to shameless self-promotion but I'm really not above that kind of thing! Hope it will be of interest!

Haha! Nice to know I'm not alone in the high-fiving myself club!

I'll try and do my best and do more urban battles in the future, I do seem to have received some really positive feedback about this battle report which I do very much appreciate!

I'm in the process of fixing those grey card boards that form the basic grey concrete of the battlefield (an accident had resulted in a few of these being splattered with white paint, dunno if this showed up in any of the pics). I've been spraypainting the panels with a textured grey spraypaint that is a lighter shade of grey than the card originally was. This should do two things; give the card a slightly mottled effect which breaks up the plainess of the grey card and also the texture should help hold my road sections in place. I'm doubtful that much of this will show up in photographs for future battle reports but thought I'd mention it anyway! Clearly I have too much time on my hands!

Most of my stuff is in storage at the moment cos i'm moving house. However, I have had the all clear from the missess for a hobby space/room in our next house. Of course, she does not no how much stuff I have been hoarding away through the years. Come to think of it, neither do I

When this is set up I intend to post alot of pics and reports .

But until then, kinda sums me up.
