In the write up, you mention that the Warlock Titan was on first fire orders, but I thought that the entire Eldar army had to have advance orders on the first turn, or have I misunderstood? .
Not that I'm aware of, and I had a quick look at the rules, but couldn't find anything. That said, I'd be happy to stand corrected.
The placing of the Eldar titan against the Warlock was quite deliberate, we both fancied having a Titan head-to-head to recall the glory days of Adeptus Titanicus.
With hindsight, there
was a trick missed by the Warlock titan however. The Warlock doesn't
have to place an order until the relevant time. The order counter for First Fire was placed in the order phase and we knew it was a roll of the dice for initiative as to who would get the chance to do damage first. Had my opponent remembered the order counter rule he could have advanced to increase the effectiveness of the holo-fields or charged to get out of the way altogether. Still, it was a fun start to the game (for me at least) and has really tightened up the campaign for the next and final battle...
Agree with you about using the Grav Tanks/Prism Cannon then the Tempests, that is our usual modus operandi; anyone new to the game should take note!
Thanks again for taking an interest!
