Me and Norto decided to try out the new Blood Angel list in another Vassal game. Heres our lists:

TURN 1: BA wins initiative and hands it over to the knights.

K1.1: Paladins goes on OW.
BA1.1: BTS-Tacticals doubles forward behind LoS blocking mountain to widen the AA-bubble from the Hunter.
K1.2: thunderbolts fails to activate.
BA1.2: Land Speeders marches down the right flank.
K1.3: Thunderbolts goes on CAP.
BA1.3: Spaceship activates. OB hits nothing. Drop pod lands near garrisoned lancers and deathwind does 1DC to them (2BM).
BA1.4: Death company retains initiative and engages lancers. The knights are wiped out for no BA losses.
K1.4: Baron (BTS) formation goes on OW.
BA1.5: Land speeders doubles behind hll.
K1.5: Crusaders doubles up on hill and fires on death company killing 1 stand (2BM).
BA1.6: Storm talons ground attacks lancers for 1BM.
K1.6: Paladins doubles forward and fires on death company for 1BM.
BA1.7: Storm talons ground attack lancers for 1BM.
K1.7: Thunderbolts ground atatcks lans speeders killing 1 (2BM).
BA1.8: Thunderhawk ground attacks lancers for 1BM.
K1.8: Lancers holds and clears all BM:s.
BH1.9: Thunderhawk ground attacks lancers for 1BM.
K1.9: Paladins douvbles to knight blitz and fires on death company killing 1 stand (2BM).

End phase:

Nothing to rally.

BA2.1: Death Company marches behind a forest.
K2.1: Thunderbolts ground attacks land speeders killing 1 (2BM).
BA2.2: Storm talons ground attacks lancers for 1BM.
K2.2: Thunderbolts ground attacks land speeders killing 2 and breaks the formation.
BA2.3: Storm talons intercepts thunderbolts and wipes out a formation.
K2.3: Paladins holds, even with the help of the SC reroll, and clears their BM:s.
BA2.4: Land speeders goes on OW.
K2.4: paladins doubles forward.
BA2.5: Thunderhawk filled with assault marines air assaults paladins. Thunderbolts intercepts and does 1DC on the thunderhawk (2BM). The knights are wiped out for the loss of 2 stands (2BM).
K2.5: lancers doubles and fires on grounded thunderhawk for 1BM.
BA2.6: thunderhawk ground atatcks lancers for 1BM.
K2.6: Crusaders doubles into ruins by Knight blitz and fires on assault marines, catching the thunderhawk in the barrage, killing 1 stand (2BM) and breaks the thunderhawk.
K2.7: Baron Marches.

END PHASE:

Land Speeders rallies.

K3.1: Thunderbolts ground attacks lone land speeder wiping it out.
BA3.3: Thunderhawk fails to activate.
K3.2: Thunderbolts goes on CAP.
BA3.4: Storm talons ground attacks paladins for 1BM.
K3.3: Paladins on Knight blitz goes on OW.
BA3.5: Death company marches to claim T&H objective on right flank.
K3.4: Paladins marches to claim objective.
BA3.6: Land speeders advances and fires on same paladins in forest for 1BM.
K3.5: Crusadres advances and fires on land speeders killing 1 (2BM).
BA3.7: BTS-tacticals doubles forward to contest both T&H objectives for the knights.
K3.6: Lancers advances and fires on land speeders killing 2 and breaks the formation.
BA3.8: Thunderhawk fileld with assault marines air assaults paladins by knight blitz from the rear (avoiding the OW fire due to the FF arc of the weapons) 1DC is done to each knight for the loss of 4 stands. The marines win the combat by 1 but breaks due to BM:s.
K3.7: Baron formation engages thunderhawk on knight blitz wiping it out for no losses.

END PHASE:

Land speeders rallies
Paladins rallies
Assault marines fails to rally.

TURN 4: BA wins initiative (4 out of 4!)

BA4.1: Storm talons ground attacks paladins for 1BM.
BA4.2: Storm talons retains and ground attacks same paladins breaking them.
K4.1: Thunderbolts fails to activate.
BA4.3: Land speeders doubles to ZoC Crusaders and fires on them for 1BM.
K4.2: Baron formation (BTS) engages land speeders wiping them out for no losses.
BA4.4: BTS-Tacticals doubles and fires on lancers killing 1 knight (3BM).
BA4.5: Assault marines retains and engages same lancers wiping them out for no losses with the help of support fire from the tacticals.
K4.3: Thunderbolt ground attacks Death company but gets shot down by hunter AA.
BA4.6: Empty thunderhawk engages paladins in forest, killing 1 knight, but is destroyed before tacticals can lend their support fire (damn!)
K4.4: Crusaders advances and fires on broken assault marines wiping them out.
BA4.7: eath company doubles closer to objective.

END PHASE:

Paladins fails to rally.

0-0 in objectives. Minor draw with 1375 - 1520 in favour of the blood angels.

My thoughts:

A really hard fought game! Both me and Norto spent alot of time in silence contemplating our next move. It started out very cagey bu then the assaults started happening. Norto was plagued by really bad armour rolls through out the game which really helped me.
But i was really fun to play!

The 2 attacks in BC (but with 4+ to hit) really makes the assault marines a very good air assault formation! I think i got 14 dices (also counting the thunderhawks dice) +1 MW on 4+ when air assaulting! This is a good change from the normal stats since it really makes the assault marines a unit you will want to include in the army. If it's deemed to powerfull after a few more playtest i would only take away the option of adding 1-2 stands to the formation, not change the stats.

The Death company is hard as nails also but can be dealt with because they're a small formation. I was toying with the idea to give them 2 dreadnoughts as upgrades but that would have made them the BTS formation so that idea had to go.

I really like this army and will playtest it more. Didn't get to try out any of the Different predators. But on paper the infernus FF3+ MW looks extremly good to be honest. Will have to try them out to see if its too good...
