Post subject:  NetEA Skitarii vs Black Legion 3K
Did another nvassal game with Norto trying out the NetEA Skitarii list. We've decided to do the 4 needed reports to get the list approved since it's been ages waiting to get there.
Nort took a Blacl Legion list with no suggested NC changes so the battle report would count.

Heres the initial setup. I castled up behind the protective screen of my Crusaders and a hill while Norto spread out his forces evenly over the board.

TURN 1: Black Legion wins initiative.

BL1.1: Hellblades go on CAP.
S1.1: Avengers go on CAP.
BL1.2: Hellblades go on CAP.
S1.2:Hypatists by blitz goes on OW.
BL1.3: Retinue by BL Blitz goes on OW.
S1.3: Crusaders goes on OW with the help of the SC(hehe, pretty cagey start).
BL1.4: Chosen marches up the left flank.
S1.4: Warhound doubles and fires on the same chosen killing 1 rhino (2BM).
BL1.5: Retinue marches up in the middle of the board.
S1.5: Collosus robots doubles forward.
BL1.6: Bikes marches forward.
S1.6: Hypatists doubles behind mountain.
BL1.7: Deathwheel doubles forward and fires on Collosus robots for 1BM.
S1.7: Hypatists doubles forward.
BL1.8: Deathwheel doubles forward and fires on Minoris Co for 1BM.
S1.8: Minoris Co holds and fires back on Deathwheel stripping 1 shield (1BM).
BL1.9: Retinue marches forward.
S1.9: Wharhound sustains on Deathwheel stripping 1 shield (1BM).
S1.10: Warhound sustains on deathwheel for 1BM.

END PHASE:

All good with no broken units.

Turn 2: Black Legion wins initiative.

BL2.1: Retinue summons 2 beatsa and engages Hypatists in Assault Pod minoris in front of them. The B2B 4 models to the minoris and trap all the Inf inside (doh!). The whole formation is wiped out for no losses to the retinue.
S2.1:Hypatists advance and fires on same retinue killing 2 beasts, 2 rhinos and 1 stand of marines (5BM).
S2.2: Collosus retains and goes on OW.
BL2.2: Deathwheel doubles and fires on warhound for 1BM.
S2.3: Warhound on left flank advances into forest and fires on chosen for 1BM.
S2.4: Avengers retains and ground attacks same chosen formation killing 2 stands and breaks the formation.
BL2.3: Retinue summons 4 flamers and doubls forward. They take 1BM from Collosus OW fire. They then fire on Warhound for 1BM.
BL2.4: Deathwheel retains with the help of the SC and engages Collosus robots. After 2 rounds of combat the Deathwheel is critted and dies. 2 robots are killed.
S2.5: Crusader robots marches and ZoC:s bikes.
BL2.5: Hellblades ground attacks warhound for 1BM.
S2.6: Minoris Co doubles and fires on retinue for 1BM.
S2.7: Warhound retains with the help of the SC and engages the same retinue wiping it out for the loss of 2 shields.
BL2.6: Retinue by BL-Blitz doubles forward.
S2.8: Hypatists doubles forward and fires on retinue killing 1 rhino (2BM).
BL2.7: Bikes marches to Skitarii blitz.
S2.9: Warhound engages retinue but gets destroyed only managing to kill 1 rhino (2BM).

End Phase:
Chose rallies.

Terminators teleport in with 1BM near BTS-Hypatists
TURN 3: Black Legion win intiative (Hattrick)

BL3.1: Bikes engages BTS-Hypatists wiping the formation out (and claiming the BTS-objective) for the loss of 4 bikes. The bikes breaks.
BL3.2: Termionators retains and engages Minoris Co. They only manage to kill 1 minoris for the loss of 2 stands. Norto then rolls snake eyes and the terminators loose the combat. The remaining Minoris reaks from BM:s.
S3.1: Avengers ground attacks retinue killing 2 stands and 2 rhinos breaking the formation.
S3.2: Collosus robots tries to retain but holds and breaks.
BL3.3: Chosen marches with the help of the SC to the BL Blitz.
BL3.4: Detahwheel retains and marches to the Skitarii blitz.
S3.3: Hypatists doubles to skitarii blitz and fires on deathwheel for 1BM.
BL3.5: Hellblades fails to activate.
S3.4: Warhound doubles to objective and fires on lone broken terminator wiping it out.
BL3.6: Helblades fail to activate.
BL3.7: Retinue marches to contest both forward DtF objectives and claims the DtF objective.

Black Legion wins 2-0 (BTS & DtF) in Turn 3.

Thoughts:

Damn, i missed the DtF objective. If i would have gone for one of the other ones i could have contested that one. But then Nortos retinue could have shoot on me an maybe broken me so it wasn't a sure thing either.
Very bloody game where heaps of formations died.

I think the Skitarii list struggles. Theres. far to few transport options for it and i feel i have to auto-include 3 warhounds to have a chance at manouvering enough to be able to win a game.
I think this could be helped some by exchanging the chimedons for regular chimeras for Hypatists and Sagitariis. That problem needs to be solved.
Avengers got do with some down-gunning and a point reduction of 25 points also.

So cheaper faster transports and cheaper aircraft would help this list to be better IMO.

No problems. Are we correct to assume that 4 reports from us would put the list forward to approval? Or do you need 6?

We could probably push it for approval, but I need to do two more myself to hit the six total up here.
