Hello!

Me and Norto have been playing alot of Vassal-games lately (I'm home with the flu and Norto doesn't seem to need to sleep that much). Today we decided to try out some of the proposed changes from the NDC vote.

I decided to take marines and try out the "Thunderhawks moved to 1/3 Titan/navy allies section" for the marnies.

Norto tried out the following for his Tyranids:
Trygons at +50 points upgrades.
Epic Uk stats for Lictors.
Brood Lord for +25 points with no extra attack.
Ignore one kill, for combat resolution purposes, in assaults per point of synapse in the formation.

Heres our lists:

Incompertus, 3000 POINTS
Codex Astartes (NetEA Tournament Pack 2015)

6 Termagants, Dominatrix, 3 Trygon

TYRANID SWARM [350]
6 Termagants, 2x Tyranid Warriors, 3 Carnifex

TYRANID SWARM [250]
6 Termagants, 2x Tyranid Warriors, 2 Zoanthrope

TYRANID SWARM [350]
6 Termagants, 2x Tyranid Warriors, 3 Carnifex

TYRANID SWARM [225]
6 Termagants, 2x Tyranid Warriors, Zoanthrope

Of course i forgot to take a snapshot of our initial deploynment (argh!). I choose corner deployment any how and went for a pretty spread out deployment.
Norto garrisoned his both genestealers forward in cover and set most of his army up on the short edge of the board hoping to avoid my orbital bombardement.

My thoughts:

HAving the Thunderhawk in the 1/3 tian/navy section felt like a good idea. It made me get some predators with a hunter in and kept me from having an extra activation. If they wouldn't have been in that section i would have gotten both scouts and thunderbolts for the same cost.
I thnk it's a good change that makes the marine player choose between certain units and steers the list away a little from certain builds.

Can't say to much on the tyranids really since I've only face them once before playing norto. 3 trygons with the dominatrix made that swarm feel liek impossible to take on.

List was a little different

Tyranids (Tournament Pack 2016-01-21)
==================================================

TYRANID SWARM [635]
4 Termagants, 2 Hormagaunts, Dominatrix, Symbiote, 3 Trygon

TYRANID SWARM [300]
4 Termagants, 2 Hormagaunts, Hive tyrant, 2 Carnifex

TYRANID SWARM [300]
4 Termagants, 2 Hormagaunts, Hive tyrant, 2 Carnifex

TYRANID SWARM [225]
4 Termagants, 2 Hormagaunts, 2x Tyranid Warriors, Zoanthrope

TYRANID SWARM [250]
4 Termagants, 2 Hormagaunts, 2x Tyranid Warriors, 2 Zoanthrope

GENESTEALER SWARM [200]
6 Geanstealers, Brood Lord

GENESTEALER SWARM [200]
6 Geanstealers, Brood Lord

LICTOR SWARM [150]
3 Lictors

HARRIDIAN SWARM [150]
Harridan

HARRIDIAN SWARM [150]
Harridan

TRYGON SWARM [225]
3 Trygon

TRYGON SWARM [225]
3 Trygon

Changes i was rolling with were,

Reduce Broodlord to +25 points, remove extra attack
EpicUK stats for Lictors
Ignore one kill, for combat resolution purposes, in assaults per point of synapse in the formation
Trygons to +50 points as Tyranid Swarm extra

So effectvely it gave me an
extra genesteeler unit in each formation

BTS Difference
4 Termagants, 2 Hormagaunts, Dominatrix, Symbiote, 3 Trygon
to
4 Termagants, 2 Hormagaunts, Dominatrix, Symbiote, 2 Trygon, Raveners

And lictors were more of a threat.

I think everything was fine from the game. Lictors became a threat and forced the spaceship to delay actating.

Genestealers a turn longer 1 stand running around

and trygon upgrade seamed fine, losing the tunneller rule when joining a spawn.

Ignore one kill seamed cluncy too when working out results. not sure if its needed. things either usually win big or lose big.

How did you play that? The suggestion was for it to effect brood creatures only.
Did it effect the way you used your brood creatures in the assaults?

actually your right i could have optimised them better when assaulting. i was in the norm of pushing my carnifexes forward.

But still im pretty sure i was either winning or losing the assault. it would probably work better in larger formations.
