A game from my last day at Adepitcon against Gunslinger007's bugs. Sorry for all the blurry photos, the light in the room was crap. I had exposure times nearly a second long.

Swarm doubles up


Hellblades hit the Biovores for a BM


Biovores go on overwatch


Barrage hits a swarm and takes out a Zoanthrope and some gaunts


Retinue drop in, taking overwatch from the Biovores and laying another BM on the swarm


Second retinute drops in, taking out a Biovore


The second retinue summons and engages the swarm


The Warrior and the Carnifex get away, a marine goes down, biovores break from support


The Heirodule doubles and takes out some marines and daemons (they break in the end phase when the daemons leave)


Hellblades hack down some biovores


The Harridan doubles


The Warlord doubles on the Swarm that doubled earlier


The SC doubles into an engage position for the first drop retinue


They advance on it, laying a BM and taking out a gaunt


The Dom doubles and takes out a Rhino in the Warlord's retinue


The Raptors engage the Swarm that doubled first thing


A warrior and some gaunts get away


Genestealers double


The Terminator's THawk take out the Warrior from the first swarm


Trygons surface


Lictors teleport in

The second retinue takes out a Lictor


The lictors engage them and whiff on their attacks


The Marines take them out

Terminators land and take out two DC on the Harridan, breaking it


Raptors attempt to engage it, fail and move away to get picked up


Genestealers engage the broken retinue


They wipe them out


TBolts try to kill the Harridan, they break it





The Heirodule doubles on the drop retinue for no losses


Tbolts take out a Genestealer




The SC swarm doubles and breaks the drop retinue


The Raptors get picked up


The swarm nearly wiped out from the drop retinues marshals

The Warlord engages it but can't manage to roll a hit or save, Marines lose


The Hierodule doubles on the retinue again, they still can't be put down


Terminators double on the Harridan and kill it


The Swarm manages to break the drop retinue


Hellblades stand down


The empty THawk lands and preps the swarm guarding the blitz


The dom doubles but can't get the Warlord in LoS


The Raptors engage


They take a loss but wipe out the formation and grab blitz

The game went to points at the end of the 4th. Marines had 1187.5 and bugs 1005. I don't remember anything being broken so all that was from destroyed or reduce to below half formations.

This game was against me, so I'll add my two cents about the Corsair list.

-This was a strange game for dice on both sides. We could seem to be hitting averages, instead taking turns rolling hot or cold. Lead to some interesting shooting and engagement results. IE: Trygons getting into CC with Havocs and bouncing off them or Chaos Marines winning a clipping engagement until the actual dice roll.
- The drop didn't feel as hard as other drop lists, both loyalist and chaos, can deliver. With two drop pods and the OB to avoid, I didn't feel as trapped as when playing Black Legion or Ravenguard.
- I liked the lesser demons in the list. They did a good job soaking hits to keep the Marines alive.
- Dave is a cagey Cad.
- The Warband made for a hell of a BTS to chip away at. Doublely so since it never crossed the mid table. So hunting it down and trying to pick all the off the table became and exercise in futility.
- I enjoyed the feel of the army, but it didn't quite feel that it could deliver a full punch. It felt like it required a lot of chipping away at the enemy. That also could be coming from playing against Nids and trying to avoid direct combat and the nature of the NetEA list. That may also be the nature of the Corsairs also. If the chance comes up, I'd like to try playing against them again with a different army to try and clarify this thought.
