Hi All,

Well we manage another game of epic. It was 3000 point per side and it was between Harlequin(4.2)and Minervan Tank Legion…TAKE2

Trent played the Harlequin(4.2) and I played the Minervan Tank Legion..

Wow, brutal game. Thanks for the report, it really shows how a specialist army can fold if the dice are against it.

Thanks for the refight. Losing the SR on turn two always hurts, but can lose the game for low activation armies like the Harlies.

I am interested to know whether any thought was given to using the Falcons to shoot rather than engage. I have a suspicion that a BTS Troupe with 5x Falcons doubling and shooting could be very useful against enemy armour to soften up targets like the SHT formations (which are otherwise quite a tough opponent for 'naked' troupes to assault). Another option is a single Falcon to place a BM while keeping out of reach. The choice between Venoms vs Wave Serpents is a question between resilience vs formation numbers and depends on the intended tactical use for the formation.

The other thought is general strategy. Like Marines, Harlies need to be highly selective and focused in their targets, attempting to gain a local formation and activation advantage to minimise retaliation. Usually this means concentrating on one flank or the other, making full use of the Eldar consolidation movement. Curiously for the Mimes, this lack of mobility with the inability to support can more than offset the advantage of teleporting.
