So any other thoughts about the IF army? were they fun to use? any clarifications needed at an armylist leve? did you find the centurions worthwhile? |

I can give you an opponent's point of view. IF Marines in fortifications are there for the game. Marines are already hard to kill Or break, and those fortifications make it nigh impossible without you wasting your entire army buying disrupt & IC weapons, if you are actually lucky to have any available to buy. And on top of the "you can't hurt me" factor, there's the whole "but now I can reach out and hurt you" game as well! You may as well just ignore them if you can, and go after the 'soft' (I know they are not soft - but in comparison) marine armour and super heavies as they will be easier to deal with. Only engage the marines if you really really really have to. I couldn't move the Marines, I couldn't shoot the marines, and that "I strike first cause I'm in a hole?" Rule means I couldn't assault the marines. They could shoot further than most marines and couldn't be hurt in return. It's a hard list to fight. |

Going after the other "not in a hole stuff" proved pretty effective to be fair. But yeah marines in bunkers are pretty tough to move. I don't mind that but i'm the fist player and i feel the trade off in mobiility i think balances it out as a first look but have to play them a few times. I liked the centurions but didn't test them that heavily, they followed the fellblade around shooting at already damaged formations at whch they are pretty good. I like them from a fluff view as well. I will test them again to firm up my view. I loved the thudds for the cheeky indirect "i have nothing else to do so lets chuck some blast markers on" and i love the idea of crew servced marine guns from a modelling perspective (and i will probably like the rapiers for the same reason) The fell is scary as all get out on paper but being as slow as it is limits this impact. Not sure if its price is worth it yet but better believe i will play it again. |

As much as I hated trying to fight it, it's still a good list. I'm just saying that it's a hard nut to crack. The centurians and super heavy are awesome fluff wise, and although it's harder to break than a west Australian sun spot, he was also fixed in place and immobile. Your not getting that fell beast any cheaper Jim you cheese monkey (more to do with the actual colour of Jim's army than the list itself) - the only reason it didn't kill more is because it's pals killed everything before it got there... |

Oh, and I forgot to add that bit about how awesome the vindicators are... were..... Six yellow stug's thundering a cross the field held a lot of potential. Just they accidentally ran into the proletarians before rolling up the flank. |

Fantastic fight, did not predict the end result. Thought for sure the Children would be getting smashed, especially comparing casualties after the first turn. Really enjoyed running the EC, quite different style with the (relatively) short ranged disruption weapons forcing a lot of maneuver to get the most out of the force. |

Nice report. Any thoughts on list balance for EC 4.0? Did the knights seem OP to you, or was that a combo of lucky shooting and lucky saving? They did a lot of damage... Thanks for taking the list out for a spin! |
