Last night we managed to get a second game in. The points were increased and my mate had gone to great lengths during the week to paint his force. I got a few more units put together and gave them a base coat but still have yet to do any detail work.
Ork Forces from memory:
Gargant
Huge warband with 3x Oddboys (BTS)
Large warband in battlewagons
Large blitz brigade with 2x oddboys
Lander with stormboys and commandos
fighta bombers
Salamanders at 3k took more advantage of their special rules:
Tactical + Supreme commander, hunter and Prometheus
Tactical + 2 Fire support dreads
Devastators + salamander devs, razorbacks, landraider and hunter (BTS)
Predators + 2 Landraiders
Vindicators
Terminators + chaplain
Bikes
Warhound
Setup:
I deployed the dismounted tacticals on OW near an objective only to watch my mate place the huge warband almost on top of them - eeep!
Rest of deployment as per pics

Turn 1 - SM initiative
In an attempt to thin the warband before it rolled over me, I shot with both the tacticals and then warhound. The warhound moved up just enough that the BM suppression would limit ork OW fire to a single Zap gun. In the end my mate decided to hold fire and benefit from the cover the OW gave. The combined firepower killed a few orks and grotz but their cover saved many - Since when do orks hide in foxholes?

The ork response was brutal, the blitz and warband combined to see off the tactical det and claim the objective. SM saves were excellent and allowed a tactical stand and dread to pull back to a bunker.

The devastators and vindicators then killed some more boys and nobs whilst the Gargant moved up in support.

SM bikes moved up into the centre also but were buzzed by the lander which caused some KIA.

The supreme commander followed the bikes and were then fired on by some of the mounted Goff warband as they raced over the bridge.

The fighta bombers attacked the broken tactical and wiped them out.
The space marine armour then skirted the city to shoot up the Goff warband but due to a double, only caused minimal casualties.

Turn 1 saw both sides very close together but most units rallied.

Start of turn two I teleported in the terminators right in front of the warband. Thankfully I then gained the initiative and moved up the warhound to fire on the warband with its VMB at close range.

I then used my supreme commander and the Prometheus to launch a combined assault on the warband. I engaged with the terminators, vindicators and Sup Comd's tactical formation. The closeness of both armies say support fire from the warhound, devs and bikes for marines and the Gargant and Goff warband for the orks. Casualties were high for the orks, loosing about 14 units whilst the marines lost some tacticals and a rhino from the gargants spt fire. Hackdowns then killed a further 6 or so units and the remaining orks moved behind the blitz brigade. The marines then spread out to minmise the gargants response should it sustain fire.

The Gargant then waded into the supreme commander, vindicators and bikes on a retain. This was another all in brawl as the tacticals, bike, terminators and vindicators all did what they could to stop the Gargant. In the end its powerfields shrugged off all FF hits and the guys in CC only caused a single hit. The Gargant killed all in base contact and the rest of the tactical marines through hackdowns - Oh the carnage!!!

Next I think I used the SM armour to sustain fire on the Goff warband but poor shooting and good saves prevented me breaking the formation. In response the Goffs charged and broke the armour formation who pulled back over the river.

The Devastators then folllowd up the broken warband in an attempt to get BTS but 2 stands survived. They took some fire from the blitz brigade in return but thankfully the zap guns missed and only a single Dev and razorback died.

The lander then tried to air asault the devastators but a lucky HK missile from the hunter caught in dead centre and sent stormboys and chunks of lander in all directions! Hurrah (at this point I will note my friend was not a happy camper... I may have given myself a few mental Hi5s!!)
Turn 2 saw only the terminator and warhound staring at the gargant, whilst the blitz and devastators were facing off on the flank. Rally say the SM armour rejoin the fight and the orks shed BM on all active units but the BTS warband failed to rally and pulled back further.

Turn 3 I again gained initiative but it went wrong from there. I foolishly assaulted the blitz with the devastators, the FF was hopeless on both sides and in the end the marines lost by 1, causing them to fall back along the road. The blitz were unharmed so I attempted to stop them getting to my blitz with the warhound but it failed to activate and the supreme commander was somewhere under the gargants shoe. I took the BM and moved the warhound into ork territory to prevent TSNP and hoped my mate would think like and ork and take the juicy warhound bait I had presented his blitz brigade.

Instead the FBs ground attacked the terminators and they were assaulted by the gargant who again barged into CC with a terminator and vindicator. The terminators and vindicators did a good job on the gargant, reducing it to a single DC and starting 3 fires but they were beaten back.

My next mistake was to move the armour into range in an attempt to kill some Goffs but shooting was poor and only killed some battlewagons - I should have moved further to contest the objective but wasn't thinking at this point.

The game ended with the blitz brigade moving uncontested to my blitz, getting the orks a 2:0 victory with Blitz and T&H.
