This looks like it's going to be a sweet conflict!

Looking forward to the results!

A few minor points.

TRC always states that the Marines play corner deployment to narrow the deployment zone.

With the lists shown the orks are 2950 and the stompa mob should be the BTS at 475 points with the big warband being 450 points.

Did you remember to include the two Big Gunz units (2 x 25 points) that the Soopagunz need to be based on?  That makes a 500 point formation by my calculations.

Ah!! that's were the 50 points are then.

But doesn't that then leave the formation 2 boys or grots down, looking at the picture there are only 14 units which could be the boys and grots not 16 (thought they had been used for the soopaguns by mistake)

Looking forward to this report.

I don't think the drop army of doom (as TRC calls it) is anywhere near as powerful as most think especially against veteran players who have played against similar lists before. They usually hit hard on first turn (as most air assault armies do) then struggle to hold on onto their lead.

Heh, it's never failed me :)

Facing that set up I would probably be able to break the stuff in the deployment zone with the suicide drop. Amasing the stompas are just where I always put the orbital barrage if not playing corner to corner :) I just hit the whole deployment zone, don't bother with trying to guess about garrisons.

I keep the warhounds grouped up more on a flank, as has been noted play corner to corner (to mess up the distances for my opponent) and place the objectives a lot better. They should be 30cm appart, preferably right on a flank or as close to the blitz as can be and max 30cm in. Idea is to have an easy group of objectives to get with the airborne/warhounds.

If I had the scouts painted I would be taking it the CC to demonstrate to others :)

The hitting hard first turn is enough. The fast warhounds can clean up broken formations and when you break enough and then get your activations armies don't come back. Even if they do the object placement means my infantry can have an easier time taking it.

In this situations the Warhounds, though deployed in the open? (why not behind the hills?) should be able to take the garrissons. They are pretty far apart though which is a curious choice when facing air assaulters.

We have never played with corner deployment. I personally hate to play that as the games distances are all screwed up. And my opponents have never asked to play corner deployment ... *shrug*

Hena, what do you mean by "the games distances are all screwed up" in corner deployment?  Just that you don't know deployment to deployment zone is "exactly" 90cm away or what?

I *highly* recommend giving corner deployment a try, it makes EPIC a new game with new challenges!
