Had another game today against my most regular opponent Uvenlord. We decided to try the Cadian list against my speedfreaks. Because we always are looking to help NetEA forward we try to always play with one Approved list and one experimental/developed list.

C: Inf co holds, even with the help of the SC, and fires on KoS killing 4 stands (5BM).
O: Blitz Brigade advances and fires on Inf co, 2DC is made on the Stormlord (3BM).
C: Command center advances backwards to blitz and fires on Blitz Brigade, kills 6 gunwagons and breaks the formation.
O: Fighta Bombas ground attacks shadowsword for 1BM.
C: Shadowsword doubles on right fllank and fires on KoS for 1BM.
O: Fighta Bombas stand down.
C: Ordinatus marches down the left flank.

C: Ordinatus advances and fires on Blitz Brigade killing 6 gun wagons and breaking the formation.
O: Landa ground attacks whiteshields in trenches for 1BM. 1DC is mad eon the Landa from ground flak.
O: Fighta Bombas retain and ground attack shadowsword for 1BM.
C: Sentinel doubles and fires on lone broken Gun Wagon from Blitz brigade, wiping out the formation.
O: Fighta Bombas Ground attack shadowsword for 1DC and the formation breaks.

My thoughts:

While is pretty cool to have 16 fighta bombas in the list it's not a very good build. Sure they can wreck havoc anywhere on the board and sure did this game but it leaves me with way to few ground activations to take objectives with.
Next time i would definitivly take ore scout warbikes who i think are really good!

Strategy wise i started out good by killing of the smaller formations to get his activation count down, but then i started to spread my fire. I should have just charged the whiteshields early on and chased them out of the trenches to threathen the T&H objective.
My positioning was also kinda bad since his WE:s always could hit me.

But it was a fun game!

C&C are very welcome, usually it's dead quiet in the comments after every battle report i post.

Next time, you might try corner-to-corner to box him in a corner to help you avoiding all those nasty war machines.

Hmmm... I didn't even think about corner deployment! That would have been usefull considering how slow his army were and how fast mine is. Really good point!

Cadians are a really interesting army. Their Reg HQ is a monster to assault and can shot pretty nasty too. The Ordinatus Cadia is also powerfull but very slow. The whole army feels very slow, but 1-2 units of kaskrins in Valkyries can help with that.
Want to mert them a couple of times more before i can give a good review i think...

Considering your signature I find the Cadian motto; "We guard the gate to Hell" most amusing.

They look really good in their natural state so they wont be painted any time soon.

They game was fun (as always)
I think the battle will be played out quite different the next time we meet.
I had "some" luck with the dice this time and my opponent didn't really know the good and the bad stuff about the Cadians.

In turn 2 the assault on the stormlord really changed the battle. The unit was unbeatable for a while, soaking up a lot of fire and almost all of Mordotens attention
And for some reason he was afraid of the Whiteshields on overwatch so they were almost untuched at the end of the game. Giving all those airplanes a hard time. I guessed they would have been dead meat on turn 1.

I personally like the infantry and WE style but I really need some more speed. The stormlord with a Inf Co did really good and I liked the way it would give coverand soak up hits for the whole company (some inside and some behind)
The Ordinatus is really powerful but needs protection or unaware opponents.
Also this list will struggle with activations if you want some War Engines.
Will be trying to get my hands on some moving units instead of the artillery until next time.
