Hey team,

Apologies for a delayed response. I've been busy with work.

1. Fair enough.
A) Good idea. The +2 was probably a little too good.
B) Not sure I agree with taking the custom bits away from them. You do pay for the upgrades after all, taking that awa from them pushes me to wave my “lets go back to 275pt” flag.

2.
A) Limiting of each per 3k. Has to happen. I disagree with the need to price hike them.
B) again probably not needed I dont often find myself taking more than a single upgrade as it does start to add up fast.

3.
A) Very good. I agree it could push to 200 after testing. As I read through some of the comments I couldnt help but see someone mentioned larger games. While I have no problem with larger games this game excels at 3k and is where all lists should be balanced for, for the sake of tournaments / organised play.

4. Sounds good on all accounts. Especially seeing the ability to have leader in there.

5. agreed

Limiting the number of big gargants you can take in a gargant list seems quite weird. If someone turned up with two mega gargants at 3k I'd be pretty confident I was going to win on placement of objectives. Even 2 great gargants is an awful lot of points to place in two units - there's just only so much they can kill in any one turn, and they can't be in more than one place at once at objective grabbing time.

Yeah, I'm not gonna implement that at this time.
New version coming up this week! :-)

my case was against great gargants, not mega.

It's a surprisingly competitive build, that was agreed from pretty well all 26 people who attended the tournament I took the list to, hence why i brought it up.

Finding that fine line between what a list should and should not be able to bring to the table is interesting and I am glad I'm not the one making those decisions.

Just a thought, make of it what you will: If we're seeing "too many supa stompas are overpowering" and also "too many big gargants are overpowering", and also "too many medium gargants are overpowering"...that may simply average out to "the list lets you take too many of *most things*"... implying a more general price or power issue.

Ork Stompers are considered underpowered by most. Perhaps a refresh is worth looking at? My suggestion, keep all the same stats but increase them from an AV to a DC2 WE. Result, small mobs of 3 would now qualify for mob up rule. Much more resilient with a minimal increase in firepower (just the extra FF and CC attack from being a DC2 vs AV). Something to consider and might fit well with the Gargant Big Mob list them as well as update the Stomper to the new meta of DC2 WE formations that are appearing across multiple lists. Would also work, in my opinion, in the main ork list with minimal power creep but bring back a fun unit to the fold (side benefit would be a basic Mekboy Stompamob (3 stompers) plus Supa-Stompa would be a 10 “ork“ strong formation and therefore qualify for the Mob rule bonus on rallying of +2.

I have been thinking of adding another army, and looking around at various available 3rd party ranges like Defeat in Detail, and others.

I know what a Mega Gargant, a Great Gargant, a Gargant and Stompas look like. What does a Super Stomper look like? Are there any pictures about? Perhaps I can convert something to make one.

Also what are good Proxies for Orkasauraus minis in case I also want to build the list to represent either a gargant big mob list or a feral ork list?

The official model looks like this:

Many people also use the old Mekboy Gargant, which is somewhat smaller (second from right):

You could use the Defeat in Detail Crusher. It stands a bit taller than the official Supa Stompa, but has roughly the same body mass - being about the same size as the GW Reaver Titan. It falls pretty much in-between the official Supa Stompa and Gargant models, mass-wise, so it can work as either.

Personally, due to a dislike of the official model and the often hefty price tag on it on ebay, I've scratch-built two of my Supa-Stompas. It's fairly easy as you pretty much just need to slap some plasticard bits on a box and then add some big looking guns and a nice goofy head.

For the DiD range, Tranplers are about the size of Stompas, Crushers are about the size of Supa Stompas, and at some point in the future I will sculpt some larger models for John.

Deb, I like your concept of using squigoths (of various sizes/mass) as a count-as GBM army and vice versa. Good way to stretch your hobby dollar and time.

Jumping back into EA once again at limited capacity. OGBM has always been my guilty pleasure in this game so I will be busting out my stuff and hopefully jamming some games with Moscovian in the near future.
